This week in Michigan history: Detroit-Windsor Tunnel opens in 1930 (http://www.freep.com/article/20131103/NEWS06/311030066/michigan-history-detroit-windsor-tunnel-opens)

QuoteThe Detroit-Windsor Tunnel opened to traffic at 12:01 a.m. Nov. 3, 1930.

Charles C. Parker, who lived on Detroit's east side, was the first person in line on the American side, and won a $20 annual pass. Vehicles had to go 20 m.p.h. and maintain a 50-foot space between one another.

Neat photographs as well.
