My clinched list includes L17564 in Ireland. What have y'all been on? (I know QC has some nice high numbers, if you can figure out which ones apply.)

The highest I can say with certainty is I-894 in the Milwaukee area. However, it is possible the year I went to see my friend in Clarksville TN that when we went driving in Kentucky, we were on a higher number.

I doubt I have anything higher than FL 9336.  At least nothing that would be a widely-known route number rather than some hidden designation.

If we require the route be signed...in the US it’s probably KY 1747, unless I’ve been on some bigger FM/RM somewhere in Texas that I didn’t write down for whatever reason.

Outside the US, it’s the A5201 road in London ... but I have no idea whether that’s signed anywhere.

EDIT: I’ve been on FM 2855 in Texas, so that is my US winner.

If that counts, I'm in.

Other than that, I'm now questioning whether I've been on any of the four-digit state routes in Kentucky. The answer is probably Yes, but I'll have to do some work to verify.

My unambiguous answer would be I-990 north of Buffalo, NY, followed closely by KY 988 outside Middlesboro, KY.

KY 3223 if we require the route to be signed. If not, then I'd also have VA 90005.

Unsigned : VA 90003 (Colonial Pkwy) (I have not done VA 90004 or VA 90005 at this time.)
Signed: SR 10076 (Fairfax County, VA, easy clinch at it is extremely short and intersects the nearby VA 209 and SR 847 intersection)
Primary Route: KY 3226

VA 90005. In fact, that's also the highest route number I've clinched. As far as actual posted routes, I've been on a few SR 99xx school routes in Virginia (there was a signposted SR 9901 in Stony Creek that led to an abandoned school), but I can't remember the exact highest number. I think it was SR 9976 in Chesterfield County. I haven't been on any of the 5-digit SRs in Fairfax County.

Like a bunch of people, I have been on (what is now) FL 9336 (Everglades NP).  However, I was on it just once back in 1975, and at that time the road was designated as FL 27.

So it may or may not count.

If it doesn't count, then I have been on a piece of KY 3085 - and I had no clue how I did it.  Turns out that KY 3085 has a brief concurrency with US 25E in Kentucky, which I have traveled.  (Also have been on KY 1629 via the same explanation).

The highest I can remember concretely offhand is I-894, but there are a couple Texas FMs I probably hit while fucking around there in fall 2015.

The highest numbered route I've been on (personally driving it or otherwise) is KY 1973.

Limiting to only three-digit routes, the highest numbered route I know I've driven is PA 997, and the highest I've ridden on is PA 999, which is essentially the maximum possible "high score" for up to three digits. (I have no idea what the largest-numbered signed route is; it might be a good topic for a thread of its own.)
Mileage-based exit numbering implies the existence of mileage-cringe exit numbering.
