Interesting case here. The US-141 shield on the '08 GSV is correct, but I drove past this sign yesterday and it had been replaced with a WI-141 shield, which is wrong. So clearly erroneous shields are not just a thing of the past.

^^ In that location, it would be a county installation.

Ohio is notorious for errors like this.   They even had a ramp to I-71 in Cincinnati marked as OH-71 for at least 2 years before it was corrected.
2di's clinched: 44, 66, 68, 71, 72, 74, 78, 83, 84(east), 86(east), 88(east), 96

Highways I've lived on M-43, M-185, US-127

I didn't know US 17 went all the way to New York. This is actually the first route type error that I've seen with a painted shield on the road surface.
Mileage-based exit numbering implies the existence of mileage-cringe exit numbering.

Drove over that a few weeks ago and meant to make a post, thanks for mentioning it!

Spotted on SkyscraperCity, AZ 84 got upgraded to I-84! With a state named shield to top that!

Supporter of the construction of several running gags, including I-366 with a speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h) and the Hypotenuse.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.

Don't have a picture because I live in Oklahoma, but apparently US 27 got an erroneous downgrade at the south end of the Taylor Southgate Bridge coming into Newport, KY.

When was this? It may have been a temporary construction (contractor) error. I didn't see it the last time I was in the area.

Found this on DeviantArt today, looks like US 99 lives again!

It's all fun & games until someone summons Cthulhu and brings about the end of the world.

I also collect traffic lights, road signs, fans, and railroad crossing equipment.

In my personal opinion, that sign is correct and all the miner's spade 99 (and 60) signs are in error.

JCT US-59 sign on AR-244 just inside the Arkansas state line leading to junction with AR-59.  Both highways are within 10 miles of each other here in both states, but I guess Arkansas felt slighted and promoted theirs.  It's been this way for a over a decade now, but I'll never report it as it's a mission to see how long it takes the state to actually figure it out.  They could swap signs with the previously mentioned US-59 to AR-59 demotion in Lockesburg and fix both problems without producing new signs, but since Arkansas isn't really very centrally managed in its road department with the districts holding as much sway as they do here, there isn't much likelihood of that happening.

Driving towards Downtown Norfolk on I-264 West earlier, I noticed this sign, except there were three shields attached on top of it (I guess they were added after this imagery was taken), and one of them read "168" enclosed in a US Route shield as opposed to a Virginia Route shield.

Amusingly AZ 84 was largely built up to I-8 west of Casa Grande to Gila Bend.  I-10 even took the shortcut AZ 86 had to the New Mexico State Line east of Benson rather than follow US 80.

This has recently appeared at the Cambridge side of the recently completed multi-year rehabilitation of the Longfellow Bridge. US 3 officially ends and MA 3 begins around a mile west of here at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Mass. Avenue (MA 2A):

Another sign I didn't get to photograph has a US 3 South guide sign at a turn around along Memorial Drive just to the west of the bridge.

When I drove past this I stared at this in confusion for a good 5 seconds until I realized it should be a MT 200 shield, not US 200. Thank goodness it wasn't actually another crazy numbering anomaly like US 400...

US 138 got a downgrade on US 30:

There was another one on US 138 just past the I-80 ramp, but I didn't get a shot.

Lovely contractor error here on Milwaukee Ave. US 45 is now IL 45 in both directions here.

This should be US 412 (formerly AR 68) .This has been here since January 2018. I'm not sure ARDOT knows or cares.

Several of these in the area. Should be US 62 near Alpena, AR
