I was awakened at 1 a.m. this morning by the NWS alarm on my phone about a tornado south of me near Lucky, LA. I watched KTBS out of Shreveport track it from Lucky to when it hit Ruston. The NWS radar is 70 miles from Ruston, sending it's beam about 10K feet in the air above Ruston. It was picking up a very well defined debris cloud/field in the air over Ruston....at 10K feet!
Unfortunately 2 people...a mother and son...were killed. LA Tech Univ. took a direct hit as well, damaging the sports facilities and nearby dorms.
The governor is on his way north to inspect the damage. This was a big tornado.

Yes...yes it can. I fixed it now. Thanks.
Oh damn. I didn't realize there was much of a tornado threat last night.
Truly unfortunate what happened.
