I've recently gotten up to 70% of the interstate highway system on Travel Mapping. I was looking at what my longest stretches of any one interstate remaining still were. Thought it might be interesting to see what others' were as well. Here are all of mine > 250 miles:

I-5 from Oceanside, CA to I-205 outside of Portland - 1,033 Miles
I-75 from I-70 near Dayton to the Canadian Border - 519 miles
I-10 from the end in Santa Monica to I-17 in Phoenix - 386 miles
I-10 from I-20 near Big Spring to I-35 in San Antonio - 383 miles
I-85 from I-75 in Atlanta to NC157 in Durham, NC - 375 miles
I-A1 from I-A3 in Palmer to the Canadian Border - 371 miles
I-8 from Lake Jennings Park Road in Lakeside, CA to I-10 near Casa Grande - 326 miles
I-40 from the first exit away from I-15 in Barstow to Williams, AZ - 316 miles
I-15 from I-90 in Butte to the Canadian Border - 266 miles

If I picked all of these up, I'd go from 70.0% to 78.1%.

Interstate 90 from Mercer Island in Washington to O'Hare International Airport in Chicago is definitely the winner for me.  Interstate 90 from O'Hare to its terminus in Boston I have except the I-80/I-90 split to downtown Cleveland.

I just want to do this quick and dirty, just in terms of mileage remaining:

I-10: 1,395
I-5: 1,079
I-35 (as TM measures it): 898
I-25: 807
I-55: 780
I-29: 693
I-20: 613
I-90: 593
I-44: 498
I-75: 475

I'll stop there for my big ones.  Not surprising that they're mostly north-south Interstates.

Fun part is that despite having less overall mileage clinched than Jayhawk, I have more traveled and clinched routes.  WIN!

Are those all in one stretch? Or just remaining overall on an interstate? For example, I have two I-10 stretches on there, so my overall missing mileage of I-10 is 1,129 miles, but I do have the stretch from Phoenix to Big Spring clinched, so it doesn't beat my I-5 stretch.

Definitely a function of being out East for sure. Lots of states here that barely even have 3dis (if they even do, looking at you New Mexico & Arizona).

Insofar as I know, my two longest continuous stretches on any single Interstate are (1) I-80 from near Toledo to its western end in San Francisco and (2) I-90 from the westbound O'Hare exit to its western end in Seattle.

(How is it that I-90 isn't the same? Because I've been through Toledo by car on a family vacation in 1987 when we went out the Pennsylvania and Ohio Turnpikes, stopped for the night outside Toledo, then took US-23 north past Ann Arbor to pick up I-75 near Flint on our way north. I've never driven to Chicago, but I've flown there, and on the most recent trip I took the subway from O'Hare into the city on my way out but took the hotel shuttle back to O'Hare on my way home.)

This seems like a job for the TM database but definitely not a trivial one.  So I'll just look at my maps and see what I can figure out.

My longest missing stretches are mostly N-S and mostly in the west.

I-8 from east of San Diego, CA, to Casa Grande, CA: almost 350 miles
I-15 from Canada to Butte, MT: about 260 miles
I-5 from Los Banos, CA, to around San Fernando, CA: probably about 250 miles
I-20 from its west end to near Roscoe, TX: 236 miles
I-5 from north of Medford, OR, to Corning, CA: a little over 200 miles
I-15 from Butte, MT, to Idaho Falls, ID: about 200 miles
I-55 from Hernando, MS, to Jackson, MS: about 185 miles
I-5 from around Tangent, OR, to the north side of Grants Pass, OR: about 170 miles

I think the only thing on the east coast that pushes 150 miles is I-20 between the east side of the Atlanta metro to Augusta.
Photos I post are my own unless otherwise noted.

Overall, my answer is the entirety of I-90 since I have never been on it, but of the interstates that I have traveled, it appears it's I-10 at 1366 miles (from Santa Monica to San Antonio).

A couple of these would be a lot longer if not for concurrencies.

I-10 Tucson, AZ, to LaPlace, LA: 1381 miles
I-80 San Francisco to Salt Lake City: 731 miles
I-90 Seattle to Livingston, MT: 700 miles
I-5 Stockton, CA, to Longview, WA: 670 miles
I-15 Brigham City, UT, to northern end: 630 miles
I-29 Council Bluffs, IA, to northern end: 570 miles
I-20 Fort Worth, TX, to Meridian, MS: 512 miles

If I did all of these I'd jump from 47% to 58%.
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

Hot Rod Hootenanny

Here are all of my 250+ mile stretches, including three interstates with more than one long missing segment:

I-80 Park City, UT to Big Springs, NE - 554 miles
I-84 Boardman, OR to Tremonton, UT - 526 miles
I-20 Birmingham, AL to Florence, SC - 426 miles
I-5 Tracy, CA to Grants Pass, OR - 409 miles; San Ysidro, CA to Coalinga, CA 334 miles
I-A1 all - 406 miles
I-29 Sioux Falls, SD to Pembina, ND - 385 miles
I-25 Santa Fe, NM to Denver, CO - 382 miles; Cheyenne, WY to Buffalo, WY - 289 miles; Las Cruces, NM to Santa Fe, NM - 282 miles
I-44 Wichita Falls, TX to Joplin, MO - 355 miles

I-A4 all - 323 miles
I-55 Summit, MS to Memphis, TN - 276 miles
I-85 Montgomery, AL to Lavonia, GA - 255 miles

By the way, I'm currently at 58.83% of the USAI system.  Despite ranking 39th among TM users in USAI mileage, I'm only 55th in routes traveled and 73rd in clinches.

All of I-10 - 2,460 miles
I-5 from the Mexican border to Tukwila, WA - 1,260 miles

I-15 from San Diego to Cove Fort, UT - 572 miles

I have a lot of untrodden ground.

Oh, fine.  What's interesting here is how much concurrencies interrupted long stretches on north-south routes, dropping them down the list to the unimpressive.  Here are the longest stretches I've got, considering I've got about 65% clinched on the entire system:

I-44, MO 133 to Southern Terminus: 498 miles
I-5, I-205 to San Ysidro Border Crossing: 458 miles
I-29, Canadian Border to County 10, Elk Point, SD: 452 miles

Short stretches on long interstates? That's easy... I-90 aka the Frazier Interstate. Even though it stretches from Boston to Seattle, the only section that I have driven was from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to Haugan, MT in September 2016. 79 miles or 2.6% of the total length.

Other short pieces of long interstates:

I-80 - San Francisco, CA to Wells, NV. I-80 went through Sacramento, so I used it constantly.
I-40 - Barstow, CA to Needles, CA. Only driven ONCE as part of a move.
I-10 - Phoenix, AZ to I-10/I-20 Split in East Texas. Only driven ONCE as part of a move.
I-20 - I-10/I-20 split to Shreveport, LA, exceeding what I have traveled on I-80.

Yet all of these are east-west interstates.

I-80 - Reno to Salt Lake - 515 miles and Salt Lake to I-76 - 585 miles
I-75 - just North of Cincinnati to Canada - 565 miles and South of Tampa to Miami - 230 miles
I-25 - I-10 to Colorado Springs - 540 miles and Denver to I-90 - 380 miles

I-5 from Anaheim, California to Tigard, Oregon:  approximately 975 miles. Drove this in September and clinched I-5.

That leaves:

I-90 from near Rochester, Minnesota to its junction with I-25 near Buffalo, Wyoming:  approximately 775 miles
I-70 from the split with US 50 just east of I-15 in Utah to US 40 near Empire, Colorado:  approximately 416 miles

I-77 is somehow a big zero for me.  I've been at the north end, and on the wrong way concurrence with I-81.  Other than that, I have not traveled the route.  I-77 is 613 miles long, but the longest uninterrupted non-traveled stretch for me is approximately 339 miles.
Main Line Interstates clinched:  2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 37, 39, 43, 44, 45, 55, 57, 59, 65, 68, 71, 72, 74 (IA-IL-IN-OH), 76 (OH-PA-NJ), 78, 80, 82, 86 (ID), 88 (IL)

Top 10 by default: I-90, I-80, I-40, I-10, I-70, I-95, I-75, I-94, I-20, I-15. Remember I consider 3 I-35s to exist :bigass:.

I-10-  from just east of AZ-NM border to the I-55 interchange in LA.
I-20 - western terminus in TX to Atlanta GA
I-40 - near Williams, AZ to Memphis TN
I-70 - near Denver CO airport to St. Louis MO
I-80 - Oakland CA to Davenport IO
I-90 - from just east of ID-MT border to just north of IL-WI border

I've been on portions of all the I-x5 interstates save I-35 and I-45. Of all the others, I've been on enough bits and pieces that none of the remaining stretches are longer than the I-x0 interstates above.
For I-x5, I'll only mention that the longest I-95 stretch I am missing is the stretch from Jacksonville FL to West Palm Beach FL.

Rothman

My I-10 stretch in TX got hacked up by me traveling between Kerrville and Mountain Home.  So...

I-44, MO 133 to Southern Terminus: 498 miles
I-5, I-205 to San Ysidro Border Crossing: 458 miles
I-29, Canadian Border to County 10, Elk Point, SD: 452 miles
I-10, east side of downtown rectangle in Phoenix to I-25: 388 miles
I-5, OR 99 to CA 120: 377 miles
I-25, I-90 to CO 7: 370 miles
I-25, US 50 to I-40, 334 miles
I-90, US 93 to WA 17, 288 miles
I-10, TX 17 to TX 41, 278 miles
I-49, I-435 to I-40, 268 miles

I've done eighteen cross-country trips, on so many different roads that I expected to have a bunch of long north/south continuously undriven sections of Interstate, and no east/west ones. But every north/south route has some concurrencies with east/west routes, so I don't have any really long north/south ones either. I found only three that are at least 500 miles: I-75 for 500 miles from Sarasota to Atlanta, I-29 for 571 miles from Omaha to Canada, and I-44 for 646 miles, all but its northernmost mile in St. Louis.

Mine has to be I-90 east of South Dakota exit 57. ~ 1,893 miles.

This is an easy one.

I-80 between the I-880 interchange in Iowa to Reno. 1,480 miles.

I crossed it on I-25 however.

Somehow mine is I-95 from I-85 in Petersburg to Exit 69 in Florida.
