Here's a real gem on the Western Hills Viaduct in Cincinnati.  Once bearing "No Left Turn 6 - 10 AM Monday thru Friday" text, it was painted over with some hand-painted lettering.

The area that this sign is guarding was once used by streetcars and has been blocked off ever since.  There are still a few intact tracks just beyond the sign.  Up until recently, there was a massive graveyard of older traffic/pedestrian signals and a few signs, but all of it has since been cleared out.

This I-8 shield (formerly an I-10 shield) is even harder to read today, especially at 75 MPH.

This still has the light fixtures installed.  ADOT is phasing these out as they install new signs with either type IX or XI sheeting.

Oh. Oh Jesus Christ, I'm sorry.

You don't have to call me Jesus Christ. I'm nowhere near that good of a soul.

You also don't have to apologize either. I have a good sense of humor and am not above self-deprecation at times.

On the left of where the previous photo's location was, I spot more reused lane assignment signage, and abandoned rail trackage.

Posting here after being recommended to do that in another thread, a repurposed US shield:

It looks like the tribal government here wrote a trespassing notice or something on a US shield for this access road:

Bumping to post this great shield I found on SR 161 near Cove Fort, UT:

It's cool at first glance simply because it's a very old variant of the beehive that you rarely see anymore. But it gets even cooler if you look closer at the numbers, you'll see it used to be for SR 33 ... which has not existed for 40 years. That was the original designation for the state highway between Castle Gate and Duchesne, which became part of US 191 back in 1981.

MT 24W was the old number, and apparently MDT got lazy on this sign when changing the spur route to MT 42 in 1994. At the same time, MT 13W in Wolf Point became MT 25, and any remnants of the old MT 13W disappeared completely.

I pass this clearance sign on Cincinnati-Dayton Road in Liberty Township, OH on the way back from work every morning.  Not until today did I notice that it's actually a reused construction sign!

"Beckett [Road] north of Union Center [Boulevard] closed from May 12, 2000 for 4 days"

Bonus points for a mis-spelling: it's Union Centre Boulevard, not Union Center.

Harvestman

Right in front of Paul Brown Stadium in downtown Cincinnati is this oddity...

"If snow exceeds two (2) inches, all cars must be off street or towed away"

Apparently this sign is ancient enough that it predates snow emergency signs.  Really odd phrasing as well.
