I noticed today that the River Link tolls have gone up when crossing the bridge on I-65.
IIRC, I believe it went up $.20.

What's up with that?

HazMatt

If it's like NC, there's an annual increase to account for inflation.  The stretch I frequent has gone from 0.52 to 0.65 since it opened in 2012.

The RiverLink tolls do indeed adjust for inflation. I got several emails ahead of time (since I have an account with them), but if you're just passing through, it would come as something of a shock.

It was well publicized around here. A 2.5% annual increase is planned each year. That means the tolls went up from $2 to $2.05.

It is so easy to impose these annual increases now with the EZ Pass.

At this point, methinks we can close this particular train down.

That whole thing is a ripoff. Is there anything they can do to me if I go through and don't pay? I live in Wisconsin otherwise if I ever have to go that way I will just take 265/64/264 just to avoid it out of principle.

It would eventually go to collections and tank your credit.  In NC they put a hold on your registration as well, but obviously can't do that for out-of-state drivers.

Doubtful they'd go to that much trouble for one $4 toll.

Their stated policy is to not bill single-time users (meaning a single one-way crossing). I found that out after I drove over the bridge on my way home from the South in March. Obviously I don't know how long the record of your "free" crossing stays in their system, nor can I say the one freebie will remain in place as tolls go up in the future.

But Charlie's wife obviously didn't want him off the MTA.  Which is why she would give him a sandwich every day, but not a nickel so he could get off the train.
