Are those trucks that pass with oncoming traffic?
Keep right except to pass.  Yes.  You.

It looks like it's composed of two panels, so they were probably trying to make everything fit without splitting anything.

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Let's pick on Caltrans District 6!

They're both former US highways, but their sign shop isn't this clever.

*phweet!* Inconsistent Use of To in Control City Specification, half the distance to the county line, first down. (Neither of these present junctions are in their respective cities, but both are close.)

Practical advice about GPS usage and a lie about access to Yosemite at the end of the pavement on Worman Road in Mariposa County.  This becomes Road 628 upon entering Madera County and quickly intersects Miami Mountain Road.  Miami Mountain Road is part of the original Wawona Stage Road to Yosemite and will get you where you need to go if you got a high clearance vehicle.

There's that term "high clearance" again, which no one seems to have found a good definition for. :D

More than the 5.7 inches I had that day in my Corolla.  My mountain bike didn't have much issue the last time I took it out on Miami Mountain Road.  I probably could have made it down to Road 621 no problem though.

Interestingly there is a gap in Forest Service maintenance on Miami Mountain Road.  It looks as though Madera County is maintaining a lot of the segment between Road 628 and CA 41.  What the Forest Service has though on their Interactive Map says it isn't suitable for cars.

There used to be a sign like that at a school near my house back home. The only difference is that it was a vertical "ONE WAY" sign. I thought it was pretty clever.

So, does this mean it could've been perfectly okay to see such a sign on southbound North Dunton Avenue at Country Road in Medford, New York over 40 years ago?
