Fall 2025: Feather River Canyon Road Meet Dates

As I have hinted in other threads, I plan on hosting a meet in California's scenic Feather River corridor this fall. The meet would focus on CA 70, one of the highlights of the California state highway system, as well as old CA 24 west of Quincy if weather allows. The meet would almost certainly begin and end in Oroville for the convenience of most attendees, though Quincy is also an option.

The date will not be selected until late March at the earliest, as I am waiting on results of the Mount Whitney permit lottery, which may dictate when I am available in the fall. However, I want to get this out there so people can suggest dates.

Peak color in this part of the Sierra generally occurs early-mid October. Quincy is low-key one of the prime foliage spots in California and doesn't get a ton of attention. Keep that in mind if you want to see color along the meet.

I'm considering a second trip. However said trip is going to be during between Memorial Day and Labor Day as I want minimal snow impact on the drive.

I usually have some work-related travel around this time of year that would dictate my availability for a possible meet. We're still way too far out for me to know what those travel dates are going to be—but it's usually late September, so most of the October dates would probably work for me. I won't vote until I have a better idea.
