I have 2005 Virginia photos of VA 288 southbound, VA 895 eb, and VA 150 (I think) sitting in the queue. The problem is finding time to write captions and edit the images.
VA-895's the Pocahontas Parkway, right? I don't think I've ever managed to drive on it. Never been on any of the three toll roads in Richmond.
Yes, it has a very high-level bridge (James River) and a pricey toll to boot. I have an ADC atlas from 1985 that shows it proposed with Interstate 895 shields on it.
Meh, $2.35's not that bad. And I just checked out that bridge on google earth. Nothing that notable about it except it's plainness and height... :-D
And I see how it could be a 3di of I-95. I wonder why it never happened?

Many were grandfathered in. Tolls cannot be collected on an interstate if federal funds were used to build it.
From the US DOT:
After extensive debate, Congress decided in 1956 to authorize the BPR to incorporate toll facilities in the Interstate System to ensure connectivity without added expense. Section 113(a) of the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956 stated:
Upon a finding by the Secretary of Commerce that such action will promote the development of an integrated Interstate System, the Secretary is authorized to approve as part of the Interstate System any toll road, bridge, or tunnel, now or hereafter constructed, which meets the standards adopted for the improvement of projects located on the Interstate System, whenever such toll road, bridge, or tunnel is located on a route heretofore or hereafter designated as a part of the Interstate System: Provided, That no Federal-aid highway funds shall be expended for the construction, reconstruction, or improvement of any such toll road except to the extent hereafter permitted by law: Provided further, That no Federal-aid highway funds shall be expended for the construction, reconstruction, or improvement of any such toll bridge or tunnel except to the extent now or hereafter permitted by law. oh that makes sense... all those turnpikes are pretty old.
so how does Penna figure to start charging toll on I-80? Will they give up on getting federal funds for the maintenance?
Pennsylvania gave up on tolling I-80 because the fed law states that funds derived from tolls on an Interstate can only be used for the projects involving that Interstate. Based upon that, PennDOT gave up, because they wanted the tolls to go into their general fund. Its a crapshoot on enforcing the law, because Delaware uses the tolls garnered at Interstate 95 to supply the general fund, which is so wide ranging that is pays DMV workers salaries. The bonds on the Delaware Turnpike section were paid off by 1985 or so, so the tolls since then should be considered illegal.
I rant on Delaware so often on the blog about their carbon copy signs. This Interstate 95 topic and their now $4 toll equally drives me up the wall. :banghead:
I have continuous rants about the Thruway that I will probably get into one night on here when I am bored enough. Tolls should have been gone 10 years ago, yet they're still here and ever rising. And nothing comes out of it.
I got that $2.35 figure from looking at it in street view on google earth, suprisingly. :-P Its probably just gone up since 2005.
And that was a very interesting bit of info about tolled interstates. I did not know that newly-built tolled roads could not be interstates. I guess it makes sense though.

Translink owns Pocahontas 895, and they are known for charging pretty high prices on tolls. The M2 here is tolled at $4.40 and rising.
I wouldn't mind seeing an update/corrections to the NE 2 listing on the future interstate page. NE 2 also seems to be on a new alignment from the interchange with US 75 to a couple miles west of Dunbar. Other than the South Lincoln Beltway, the only other major improvement in the near future for the NE 2 corridor is a SPUI at the eastern intersection with US 75 (http://www.nebraskatransportation.org/projects/ne-city-southeast/index.htm (http://www.nebraskatransportation.org/projects/ne-city-southeast/index.htm)).
In addition, the Lincoln beltway seems like another future interstate candidate given the design of the interchanges with US 77 and NE 2 (http://www.nebraskatransportation.org/projects/south-beltway/8-2007/july2007webimage1.djvu (http://www.nebraskatransportation.org/projects/south-beltway/8-2007/july2007webimage1.djvu) and http://www.nebraskatransportation.org/projects/south-beltway/8-2007/july2007webimage6.djvu (http://www.nebraskatransportation.org/projects/south-beltway/8-2007/july2007webimage6.djvu)). Otherwise, it seems NE 2 should be the main route at the interchange with the East Beltway.

All that we have for Interstate 88 is now posted.
Will look into the future interstates page and Nebraska 2, altho probably not for a few days ... latest updates from California include I-10 (completed in both directions throughout the state), a few I-10 business loops, California 66's east end at I-215, and California 71 at Holt Avenue. Work on California 91 is proceeding ... I will soon have westbound done from I-215 all the way to the ocean (although some photos will still be the older ones pre-2004).

I might start off having a topic on the Philippine Highway system (and telling you the ups and downs, sights and sounds... even my comments on them) because in my own country, with nearly 200,000 km (120,000 miles) of roads and highways, the Philippines has an extensive network, many of which connecting islands. I could also tell you my reflections about my home city, Manila's, highways, alleyways, and roads -- many of which I call as notoriously bad for many reasons.
How's that for a treat?

I know that VA 288 has been complete for over 4 years but the Richmond-Petersburg article doesn't have it finished but "slated for completion in mid-2004" and the map still shows VA 288 under construction between VA 6/Patterson Ave and SR 720/Lucks Ln.

Basically that VA 288 was completed in late 2004(with construction of the SR 3840/Woolridge Rd going into 2005) from VA 76 to I-64, which lets traffic coming from I-95 North to I-64 West and vice versa not have to travel through Downtown Richmond. It was also a PPTA(public-private project) like VA 895 and it connects to I-64 only 1-2 miles west of I-295
I've completed the page additions for U.S. 281 leading north from San Antonio to Hico with Justin's material. Three new pages are listed on the updates page (https://www.aaroads.com/updates.html).
After (practically immediately after) crossing the Potomac River via the Francis Scott Key Bridge, US 29 leaves the DC approach for the elevated Whitehurst Freeway; US 211 (pre-retraction) did not. Instead, it turned right along M Street, NW (a major thoroughfare, even then) to Wisconsin Avenue (originally the southern reaches of US 240) and then, turning right on Wisconsin, went down to the foot of Georgetown (Wisconsin @ K) where Wisconsin Avenue (and US 240) ended. However, US 211 still did not end (though it was actually *under* the WhiteHurst Freeway, and US 29, the two would only briefly interact once more). Coming east along K Street, underneath the Whitehurst Freeway (and US 29). K Street kept east to the confluence of K Street, the Potomac Freeway, and the eastern end of the Whitehurst Freeway (meeting both US 29 and Interstate 66 along the way). US 29 would pick up K Street here (which it does today), while Interstate 66 and US 211 would form a brief duplex (brief being only the length of the nearby Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which the Potomac Freeway passes to the east), where I-66 collects US 50 and starts the westward trek toward the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge, while US 211 continues east to meet US 1 at 14th Street and Independence Avenue (coming to that intersection, and its end, from the west, via Independence Avenue and Hains Point Park in the vicinity of the Washington Monument and the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials).
Steve Kozel's "Roads To the Future" illustrates all those never-built urban freeways in the vicinity of the Kennedy Center and Key Bridge; all of them have a US route tie in somewhere (or would have, in the case of US 240 and I-66). US 240's southern augmentation (remember, US 240 was originally Wisconsin Avenue/Rockville Pike, especially in Montgomery County and the District itself) was the southern routing of I-70S (which, naturally, was never built). Because I-66 and US 29 (especially in Virginia) twist and turn about each other through most of the Interstate's length, there was an understandable thought that this would have contunued in the Federal city. However, signage that is still posted belies that theory; in particular, the in-city routings of US 29 and the old pre-decommissioning routing of US 211 and US 240. At the eastern approach to the Whitehurst Freeway (from K Street), you still have the option of remaining on K to Wisconsin Avenue (this is the Georgetown Park section of the city, still renowned as a shopping district; many trendy shops can be found here, including Dean and Deluca). A green button-copy sign used to be here indicating that K Street at this point was US 211 (US 29 was still the Whitehurst Freeway west, though US 29 was marked "south") and indicating that continuing west on K would take you to US 240/Wisconsin Avenue. (The Freeway did then, and does now, take a viaduct over both K Street and the C&O Canal.) The very fact that US 29 used the Key Bridge as its crossing into the District, while I-66 instead teamed up with US 50 to cross via the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge, and the Interstate's routing over the Potomac (but not the Whitehurst) Freeway, further proves that the US route being augmented was not US 29, but US 211 (which had not been truncated yet).
More of Carter's material from 2004 is now online for Louisville, thus completing what he sent us from the Louisville aspect of his trip years ago. I know that a lot of the signs up there are now in Clearview, but for now some additional pages are available for I-65 south (https://www.aaroads.com/southeast/i-065sa_ky.html), I-264 east (https://www.aaroads.com/southeast/i-264ea_ky.html), and I-265 east (https://www.aaroads.com/southeast/i-265ea_ky.html).

You know, I was thinking, when you write captions for the photos, how about putting in the name of the photographer? I notice that is done here only sporadically (mostly on the Interstate Guide pages), but it would be useful. If it's a group effort (for example, if there are two photographers on the same trip), then put in both names. What do you guys think?

Decided to shift back for a bit to areas where I'm more knowledgeable, Northwest Florida. Added a Santa Rosa County 89 section to the NW Florida County Roads (http://www.southeastroads.com/florida_northwest_county.html) page. Also added CR 184 photos from south of Milton, CR 399 photos from the Navarre and Midway area, and new coverage of Florida 87 (http://www.southeastroads.com/fl-087.html) between U.S. 90 and 98.
Only had time to do a quick page today so I decided to do Lee County 78A (Pondella Road) (http://www.southeastroads.com/cr-078a.html). I am slowly working my way around my home turf and will probably create a Southwest Florida page one of these days and incorporate all the area's road pages into there.
Tying up more loose ends, some updates I started in October involving Interstate 85 northbound (http://www.southeastroads.com/i-085nc_nc.html) in North Carolina are now finished. Photos from 2005 covering the stretch between the Concord area and High Point are now online.

Sadly not. My work will be on U.S. 321 north of Gastonia. I have not made it on that section of I/U.S. 74 as of yet...

I'm continuing to work through the North Carolina backlog and have made more progress thus far this week:
I split U.S. 74 (http://www.southeastroads.com/us-074_nc.html) into more county-based pages with new coverage along east and westbound in the Rockingham area to go along with new Future Interstate 74 (http://www.southeastroads.com/i-074_nc.html)pages in Richmond County. Also added are a handful of photos covering westbound on MLK Jr. Parkway in Wilmington, a few photos on U.S. 74 at Interstate 485, and a few new photos (though still a little outdated due to more sign changes) along the U.S. 17-74-76 overlap.
For U.S. 17 (http://www.southeastroads.com/us-017_nc.html), Justin and I took the Business Loop through town in November 2006, so I added photos of that drive in addition to photos of the U.S. 17 freeway east of Interstates 40/140. I'll have more northbound photos from the SC state line to the merge with U.S. 74/76 added soon.

I see the sign changes to NY 390. Glad I got the text button copy sign for NY 104 photographed, as I see that one is gone. For that NY 390/NY 104 interchange, did they just replace the W Ridge Road overpasses, or did they do anything else as well? Is the pavement/shoulders still wretched on I-390 heading southward toward I-86?
I culled all of our remaining NY photos from the queue and the tally is over 5,000. This covers Rochester, Syracuse, the Southern Tier, Binghamton, Cortland, Ithaca, the Northway, Albany, New York City, etc. Snappyjack is helping me with some I-87 coverage, and I hope to get most of the rest of our NY material online before too long. :-D
W Ridge Road has recently been reconstructed with additional capacity. I-390 was reconstructed on a 7 mile portion between Avoca and Cohocton; there is also shoulder work being done between Mount Morris and Geneseo, and it looks like more work south of Dansville is planned, with another project under way in Cohocton.

Yes, two photos were out of order there. That is what happens when you have the same stretch of roadway shot on three separate occasions and cannot decide on which you want to post right away. :confused:
All of the dates mentioned that were swapped were incorrect. I was using a template to build these, and missed changing a few... they are fixed now. The last photos were taken in 2005, not 2007. Our 2007 photos entail the Interstate 87 corridor and NYC, of which will be added in time.
The other corrections were made too.

A few notes on the central DC map:
- Looks like you were using the 1971 DeLew Cather & Associates study as the backbone for the cancelled routes. All of the maps I've seen (both from the 1971 study and other sources) show the East Leg (I-295) passing west of what you list as Kingman Lake, not across/over it as you show. If you have a map/source that shows what you presented, I'd like to see it.
- I see you show US 29 along 13th St NW, between K St and Rhode Island Ave. Which I do believe is the case...though the only sources I've seen with that routing are the ADC regional series atlases and FHWA shapefiles.
- The two ramps that would have carried "mainline I-295" between the 11th St Bridge and the Southeast Freeway have been mostly demolished now, so I think it's safe to remove them from your map.
- I've only seen one map suggesting US 240 heading south along Wisconsin Ave (1944 VA map). Most maps I've seen show US 240 coming south along Massachusetts Ave to 22nd/23rd Sts. There was also an ALT US 240 which ran north from 22nd & Mass NW, up Florida Ave and Connecticut Ave.

Mike Roberson has included references on US 240 possibly entering Virginia (http://www.vahighways.com/route-log/us340.htm#us240). His reference to the 1944 Virginia official map is the same one I mentioned above....though that same map also shows US 240 on Massachusetts Ave, so who knows.
Anyway, if US 240 continued south along Wisconsin Ave, and based on that '44 VA map, it continued down 35th St NW to the Key Bridge (but may or may not have crossed Key Bridge).
240 crossing Memorial Bridge was possible at one point, given the few different sources showing it. But it would've been relatively short-lived. For most of its life, 240 followed Wisconsin to Massachsetts to 22nd/23rd (then just 23rd St by Washington Circle) and ended either at 23rd and Constitution or at the circle around the Lincoln Memorial.
Since planned I-295 is north of the river, what number was DC 295 supposed to have?

I first noticed D.C. 295 shields on a November 1994 road trip. There were none along the route in 1993.

DC-295 is indeed a very new phenomenon ... since well before the 1990s, DC has had the habit of adopting the numbers of neighboring states for continuing routes. See here DC-4, circa 1942, which is an extension of Maryland state route 4:

so I believe DC-295 was indeed meant to be that number, since state route MD-295 has been signed as that since the 1970s, if not earlier.

Added photos to the Outer loop page of Interstate 495 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/i-495_va.html) in Virginia. Also added information on the project to add HOT lanes. How is that going anyway? The new photos are from 2005, and unfortunately I have nothing more recent. This will matter not as the whole road will change drastically over the next 4 years and need to be rephotographed.
The Beltway pages also now reflect that the Springfield Interchange is completed (well except for Phase IIX).
I also updated the Capital Beltway pages for I-95/495 to reflect the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Replacement, and added a few more photos taken during the work. Unfortunately for this, I only have traveled the route at night, so there are no updated photos showing the final configuration. For the outer loop page, I have directed viewers to see Froggie's site (http://www.vahighways.com/photos/wwb/outer-loop/index.html) for updated imagery.
I split the Maryland 295/Baltimore-Washington (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/md-295.html) Pages to separate the state-maintained vs. NPS maintained sections. Added a few more photos to northbound from 06/22/05.
Also slapped up a few photos of MD 4 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/md-004.html) when we drove from I-95/495 to the beginning of Suitland Parkway.
Lastly, the Interstate 95 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/i-095_va.html) guides for Virginia were resplit and html files renamed to na, nb, nc and sa, sb, sc, etc. I realized that there are several pages with very little content, and Interstate 95 is one of the routes in the state that we have well covered. So in the coming weeks/months, I'll try to add more to those weaker pages.
I have revised the map as per Andy and Froggie's suggestions, but am waiting to get a final output before posting it. The new map will be a zoomify map, allowing for more detail.
My DC area queue is down to 254 photos, many of which were taken on multiple trips along I-395. I'll be working through these next before likely returning to updating New York.
This weekend I'll be out of town on a roadtrip with Carter to Memphis and perhaps points north.
I moved all of the 2007 and 2008 updates onto their own pages from the main updates page (https://www.aaroads.com/updates.html) on AARoads.
Also, in continuing with my DC area update, I added/replaced photos on I-695 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/i-695_dc.html) (mainly eastbound) and I-395 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/i-395_dc.html) (both directions across the Potomac and on the Southeast Freeway) tonight and also created a small VA 233 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/va-233.html) guide and added four photos to U.S. 1 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/us-001_va.html)south at Crystal City. All that remains in our queue from within the Beltway are photos of Interstate 395 in Virginia.
Finished updating the I-395 Virginia (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/i-395_va.html) pages, which involved splitting them into north and southbound guides. This includes new photos from 01/02/08 of every southbound exit.
I was a bit off in my statement about I-395 being the last batch of photos within the beltway in our queue... we still have some photos of George Washington Memorial Parkway and a couple of Virginia 110, which will be added in my next update.
Since your updates have found their way back to VA, do you still need those photos of I-564 (I have all new photos in both directions)?

As I admitted above, those Interstate 95 pages are way out of date, with the southbound ones very lacking in any content. I may or may not add some of that material in my next round of updates. If I continue on I-95 guides, I'd likely not stop until finishing updating all of the Virginia pages. Its a matter of whether or not I want to prioritize that. :hmmm:

Since I was recently in the southwest corner of Arkansas, I decided to create a couple of pages to give the Interstate 30 page in the Arkansas (https://www.aaroads.com/southeast/arkansas.html) portion of the site some company. :)
I added an Arkansas 549 (https://www.aaroads.com/southeast/ar-549.html) page, covering the northbound (https://www.aaroads.com/southeast/ar-549nb.html) perspective from its beginning near the state line to its end in Texarkana. I split the page so there may hopefully be an eventual southbound perspective of the now state limited-access freeway. Of course this will change when (and ever the always if) it becomes a part of Interstate 49.
Got a few new shots of the start of I-579 on I-279 with the new exit numbers.

I thought I was done with D.C. material, but I overlooked 12/26/06 photos I took of B/W Pkwy & MD 201 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/md-295sb.html), DC-295 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/dc-295sa.html), and I-295 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/i-295sa_dc.html), so I got those posted tonight. Also posted a few updates here and there such as MD-32 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/md-032wa.html), small pages for VA 28 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/va-028.html) and VA 234 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/va-234.html), and added a couple of I-66 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/i-066eb_va.html) images.
On that I-295 page (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/i-295sa_dc.html), and the first photo in particular, I-695 ends at that Pennsylvania Ave exit. The Southeast Freeway between the 11th St Bridge and Pennsylvania Ave is officially I-295, even though you can no longer make the direct connections to "stay on I-295".
The "first standalone I-295 shield" is no longer where you photographed it. It's now a bubble-shield (similar to the I-H201 shields) just before the Howard Rd exit.
Some of the photos (such as the Exit 2 signage (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/district_of_columbia/i-295_sb_exit_002_02.jpg)) bring up a "multiple choices" error. Most of the rest bring up photos that don't match the thumbnails.
On the I-66 page (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/i-066eb_va.html), about 1/4 down, it's very noticeable that your photos are dated. The 2-to-4 transition heading eastbound is now just west of Prince William Pkwy (VA 234 South), and construction has been underway for awhile now to extend it to US 29/Gainesville.
On the DC 295 page (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/dc-295sa.html), the first 4 photos are a major construction area right now, as DDOT rebuilds the overpass over Burroughs Ave. I believe this project is also reconfiguring the ramps in the area, but I'm not 100% on that.
The "END SOUTH DC 295" shields no longer exist.
Minor nitpick: on some of your DC area pages, I've noticed you reference a given route as "controlled access". Although you're technically not wrong there, in most parlance, "controlled access" refers to freeway-grade facilities, and "limited access" refers to expressways (engineering definition, not the Northeast/Chicago definition). That said, Virginia switches the two terms.

I'll address some of your other suggestions/corrections later. Regarding the minor nitpick, I use the term limited-access for freeways and controlled-access for expressways. I know the rules sometimes swap; for instance when I worked for Universal Map, they used "controlled access highway" for all freeways on their map legend and in their updates. To me controlled access is no private driveways, shopping center entrances, etc.; only access at interchanges or at-grade intersections.
Also regarding the discussion over at Tim's thread about our DC 295 guide. The exit numbers in the file names are something that we came up with. We will assign mile-based exit numbers for file-naming to make it easier to organize photos. I do not actually reference the implied exit numbers in the captions, but Andy sometimes does. So the Exit number references on D.C. 295 are purely suggestive in nature.
Minor update about MD 32. It certainly wasn't the case in '04 but now all of the exits have exit tabs/numbers posted.

Yes, the server will also try to approximate for missing files. If there are multiple files with similar names, it will give the multiple choices option. Better than a 403 error.
Created a VA-150 (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/va-150.html) page with photos taken by Will Weaver. Description of the last EB 564 photo has a few errors, which should be fairly obvious.
Also, with the description of the first WB 564 photo, the only mainline interchange of Interstate 564 is that of the Exit 2 trumpet interchange with Virginia 406 is in error, in that you also have the trumpet interchange at Gate 3/3A. If your intent was that the VA 406 interchange is the only fully public interchange (since Gate 3/3A is base traffic only), there's probably a better way to word this.
Second WB 564 photo description has a small error: VA 407 vice VA 406.
Third WB 564 photo description: the first westbound shield is just past the split from WB 64, unless that shield's been taken down this year (it was there over New Year's, and existed several years before that).
Also curious why you kept both 2001 and 2009 photos for some entries where there are no fundamental differences between the two...

Fixed the 406 errors, the first shield reference, the only interchange reference. I swapped the order of the ramp descriptions of the last eb caption (I assume that is the obvious change you mentioned).
I kept some of the 2001 photos just to show the highway gothic vs. clearview signage comparison. I especially like doing this when a new sign is a simple carbon copy of the old.
Actually, in the last eastbound caption, you call it "Little River Road" and "Virginia 170" when it's Little Creek Rd and VA 165 instead.
I'd also personally leave out the VA 168 reference after "I-64 mainline", since I-64 (and most of the traffic going from 564 to 64) goes well beyond that. But that one's not technically an error.

Of course the one day I can get out there, it's pouring rain (so no pix) but I can confirm that (a) the WB-only Guilford Road exit has no exit number posted; (b) one of the Ft Meade exits (Samford Road/NSA) is clearly marked as Exit 9; and (c) the signage for Canine Road exit is not clear. It may share Exit 10 with the B/W Parkway, or it might not.
Found some time and worked on two page updates:

Many of these pages were created in the early years of AARoads and have shown their age in both photo quality and dated information/captions. I get to Mobile quite often and probably have posted more coverage of the roads than anyone could ever want....

Mobile County 31 / Schillinger Road (http://www.southeastroads.com/cr-031_al.html) - a horrible road, but worthy of its own page. We can refer to as County Road 31 since pentagons are posted in places.
Mobile County 39 / McDonald Road (http://www.southeastroads.com/cr-039_al.html) - split from the County Roads page to its guide. Its really only signed at U.S. 90 and Interstate 10...
Mobile County 56 / Airport Boulevard (http://www.southeastroads.com/cr-056_al.html) - another awful road, but the page got a much needed update.
Chickasaw area roads (http://www.southeastroads.com/chickasaw.html) - even updated this page, which had some glaring errors (which the map still shows in a sense). Before the days of Streetview and Bird's Eye and readily available aerials in general, locating photos after the fact was a much more of a difficult task. For years I referred to Kansas Street as the preferred connector between West Lee Street and Sutherland Drive, when it has been Jackson Street all along. For what its worth, there were many other instances of errors like this throughout these pages...
I am working my way up in road class to the freeways. U.S. 45 will be updated next, followed by Interstate 10 perhaps...

We keep every original photo we've taken on back-up cd's, dvd's and external hard drives. The only original photos for sure that I know I lost were some Baltimore pics from 10-10-04 when the cd they were on was scratched by a malfunctioning cd-rom drive. I also cannot find some photos we took in Baton Rouge in 2002, but there are some hard copies from that same trip I stumbled across just last night going through shoe boxes of pics.

Please do. I would have gotten pictures but it was night when we went 71N - 76/224 E. And, while it was daylight on the return trip (76/224W - 71S) my windshield was dirty from snow/ice/salt/etc. and I was having problems with my van and couldn't do so.
Finally got around to adding DTP's photos from U.S. 158 (http://www.southeastroads.com/us-158_nc.html) on the Outer Banks (http://www.southeastroads.com/obx_roads.html) northward onto the Chesapeake Expressway (https://www.aaroads.com/mid-atlantic/va-168.html). Also took the opportunity to revamp some badly out of date pages related to Outer Banks Roads.
Finished adding all of our Mobile County and City highway coverage from our queue. The final updates include a needed revamp of the Interstate 165 (http://www.southeastroads.com/i-165_al.html) page, and additions to U.S. 43 (http://www.southeastroads.com/us-043_al.html) and Mobile County 96 (http://www.southeastroads.com/mobile_county.html).
Many of the photos from the old 640, 720, and 800 width format were reuploaded as 1024x768 images. Also of interest on the U.S. 43 guides is the new trumpet interchange with ThyssenKrupp Drive north of Mt. Vernon. ThyssenKrupp is set to open a new carbon steel processing plant by spring of this year that will generate 2,700 jobs.
I just sent up the last updates for Virginia (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=gatewayva) that included photos of I-85 in both directions. I started working on Virginia in late-January, and finished it just a week shy of the meteorological summer. Takes a long time to polish off a state, but another joins the few on AARoads that are done.
What to work on next? Going to train Andy and others on how to work the new format, and likely work on some Illinois and convert another state or two...
A roadtrip to Memphis is on tap for next week, and a two-week trip to the Mid-Atlantic next month.
I converted Interstate 99 (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=i0099napa) into the new format with the additions of some northbound photos sent to us by Jesse Bender.
Am currently working on converting NC pages over and hope to finish up a few Western N.C. area updates over the next two weeks so that everything we have for NC is online.
After that, may work on Washington (per requests), start up Chicago area pages with Andy, or work on converting Indiana in preparation for a number of photos we took there last November and last month. Also intend of putting more Iowa/Illinois material up from the last few trips there too.

I will have the same concept with I-73/74 and U.S. 220, and US 74/I-74. I will double (or triple) tag each photograph so that you can remain along "US 220" when navigating web pages. The I-99 update is the only for the php in Pennsylvania thus far. PA is a mess htmlwise and will require some significant time to clean it up. Fortunately Andy is heading to western PA next month, and I will try to put him in charge of updating the western PA stuff, since it has not been touched since 2004!
I can get you new shots of the ends of Southern end of I-279 and Northern end of I-579 (which just recently had new signs installed for on I-279). ;)

in a lot of cases, our code works better if particular parameters are a fixed number of characters long - in this case, the route numbers are all a type prefix and then four digits.

The official name has always been the "United States Numbered Highways". The term "federal" was never officially applied to the system (the only alternate term discussed was "transcontinental"), because it never really had all that much to do with the federal government–BPR did the initial numbering, then turned it over to AASHTO afterward, and Congress provided some funding through the FAP and FAS initiatives (not even system-specific funding like the Interstates), but they've always been state owned and maintained.

Guides for Interstate 26 are split into four guides now, and the westbound guide for the stretch between SC and I-40/240 was updated. I will be revising the original content for the other pages this week and will have some I-40, I-240, I-77, and US 25 updates before wrapping things up with the state.

Both are north-south routes. Hawai'i doesn't exactly do N/S/E/W in the same sense that most other locations do.

Added photos of the 1.5-mile Baldwin Beach Express opened in 2009. Construction is already underway for the four-lane road at County Road 64, so we will have to check back when new the next section opens this year.

I don't have anything southbound after that until the NC line, though, because I was driving (on the trip to Myrtle Beach) and trying not to take too many pictures. My photos from that day also cover the southern terminus of I-295 near Petersburg, though you've got that already. I think I can make up for this, though - I've got a couple state-name shields, and a picture heading back up US 301 northbound south of Stony Creek, with southbound I-95 to the right!
I'm gonna have to scratch I-40 from the list, though, I only have coverage of two exits, so there's not much of a point in that unless you want some photos of "I-40 alternate" signs (which I never quite figured out myself). :P
But yeah, I do have I-95 southbound clear up to I-40, and I-95 northbound through most of North Carolina except Fayetteville, although I do have good coverage of Business Loop I-95 in that area (only a little bit is missing due to a brief, unintentional detour to the All American Freeway, and to a food stop using US 64).
BTW, Alex, nobody here ever uses the placename Groveton. You're fine leaving that particular photo entry at just "Fort Belvoir".
You should also clarify your WWB entries (like on the Maryland 95/495 SB page) that while the new bridge was built as a 12 lane span, it is currently striped for 10 lanes...4 "Thru Lanes" (as they're called) and 6 "Local Lanes"...with one local lane in each direction being an auxiliary lane between the 295 and US 1 interchanges. One of your WWB entries (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=i0095sdmd) suggests "through traffic would use the left three lanes and local traffic would use the right four lanes" which WAY overstates the number of lanes in a given direction.

We saw some of those Alternate I-40 shield assemblies too. Alternate and Detour Interstate "routes" are appearing in more and more places. Even Baldwin County, Alabama is using them outside of the usual ones on Battleship Parkway.
Definitely will welcome southbound pics through to I-40. As you can see on the site, we only have that state-named shield by Rocky Mount, which a friend of mine shot for me out the side window back then. I drove and photographed all of the Fayetteville Business Loop northbound in 2007, and that is posted.

ABRoads = me and Brent (flaroads). There are enough trip photos done between the two of us, it made sense to make up another acronym. Did that to cut down on the amount of text shown up top. The script needs to be reworked to do the photocredits more efficiently.

I worked with what we had through all of that Accelerate 465 construction, which was not much considering three of the interchanges were hardly marked. A return visit is definitely on tap.

Will be coming northward sometime on Friday, from Interstate 57 and turning east, eventually taking I-80/90 east to I-69. Not sure what poking around we are going to do in NW Indiana, but Andy has requested some photos of IL-394, which will depend upon traffic and time of day we get through the area. Planning on making it somewhere in Michigan that evening.

When coming through NW Indiana, From I-94 in Chesterton, go North on IN-49 then to US-12 East, There a bunch of Indiana 49 Highway Shields with the state outline. I believe these were a contract error and as of two weeks ago they were still up.
Also, US-20 and IN-39 East of Michigan City are posted as "Emergency I-94"

I would fathom those are MDOT signs (they did a similar thing with Emergency I-69 to the first exit entering Steuben County).

Not quite "emergency"...the signs actually list US 190 as "I-10 Alternate Incident Route" between LA 415 and I-49 near Opelousas. It's used because US 190 is utilized as a detour route (along with LA 415 from Robdell to I-10 and I-49 from Opelousas to Lafayette) when I-10 along the Atchafalaya Swamp Freeway between Lafayette and Baton Rouge is blocked up by an accident or whatever.
Just curious, you mention going to I-69 in northern Indiana, or at least that's what it sounds like, are there plans on going south on 69 toward Indy and in that case any potential for pictures along that way, such as thorugh Fort Wayne which had been redone in the past few years, just asking?

Short sections of I-40 in Knoxville and a rehash of I-275 nb in rain as well.
Day 2:
I-275 wb from OH-125 to I-471 (overcast and early morning lighting)
I-471 to Exit 3
US 27 into downtown Cincinnati
US 25's end, US 22's end
I-71 nb from US 22 to OH-562
OH-562 wb
I-75 sb from OH-562 to I-74
All of I-74 wb from I-75 to I-57, including the stub to old US 421
I-70 wb from I-465 to the Sam Jones Expwy
Sam Jones Expwy wb (man I hate that redo at the west end, what a sham of an "upgrade")
I-465 nb from SJE to 38th Street (don't speed through there, lots of cops present today shooting radar and otherwise active).
I-80 eb from I-57 to IN-912
IN 912 nb to I-90
I-90 eb to merge with I-80 and through to Exit 107, winged it for Exit 121 and 144 at dusk.
Day 3 will involving driving all over Michigan, focusing on I-69, I-96, I-94, I-496 and I-194
Ultimately plan to head back south via I-69 from I-80/90, also doing the I-469 loop, likely on Sunday.

Ended up photographing every exit on southbound and all the northbound exits between the I-469 end points. It clouded up by Exit 78 and we ran out of daylight by Exit 26. Still shot photos through to the end, but they became blurrier and grainier with the waning light.

I salvaged some of the exits, but 5, 3 and 1 are pretty motion blurred.
From Binford we made our way over to Shadeland and took that south to the c/d setup with I-465, then I-465 south to old US 40 west to Shadeland again. Was nice to see some lit button copy on Shadeland and signs for Washington that include space for removed US 40 shields. Did not shoot photos of that, but took a couple of quick videos with my A1100S for the fun of it.
Rejoined Interstate 465/74 west to Interstate 65 and drove in the dark to Jeffersonville for the night.
Got photos of I-265 west and I-64 west to US 41 and the I-69 spur and I-164/US 41 south to KY the next morning.
flaroads, I saw an error in the description of I-75 in Sumter County. Exit 309 may be signed for Sumter CR 476, but it actually leads to the southern terminus of Sumter CR 476B and western terminus of Sumter CR 673. To get to SCR 476 from I-75, you have to take that exit and head north along SCR 476B. I made a cheap QuickTime video of how things are really set up there.

Having never actually taken that particular exit, I was unaware of how it is actually signed. I should have remembered that there was something wrong with the signage because in all my travels up and down I-75 I would notice the sign blade on the actual bridge indicated CR 476B, not CR 476, and wonder why that was. Come to think of it, I honestly think that Exit 309 might be the only exit along I-75 in Florida I have never used.
Once again thanks for the heads up on this, and for reading the pages in general! My plan now is to pick up where I left off along I-75 southbound and finish up the counties we currently do not have coverage for.

You're welcome. But I'm still going to send the video to you somehow. I remember sending an e-mail to FDOT Region #5 about this, and they told me this was deliberate. Unfortunatley, I deleted the e-mail, but I might have a printout of it somewhere.
I've also made a couple of videos of the approaches to the new ramps toward FL 56 from both northbound I-75 and I-275, the latter of which was designated Exit 275, when it should've been designated Exit 60. The video from I-275 also includes new construction of I-75 between FL 56 and FL 54, which I still think should've been done during the previous construction project... unless this one isn't a widening project either.

Got into NW Indiana much later than anticipated, so we just blew through from Interstate 57 north to Interstate 80 east to SR 912 north to Interstate 90 east. Encountered a minor delay on the Toll Road where some resurfacing was underway at the SR 912 interchange. Need to return to shoot updated stuff for I-80/94 westbound showing the completed Borman work someday.

My westbound coverage of the Borman (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=i8094wdin) is limited to 2005 photos from the Toll Road to SR 912, when much of the road was under construction. The photos I have from SR 912 west to the IL line at least show the road post-construction through there (2008).

With what you mentioned about I-69, I travel the stretch from Indy toward Marion quite often, so I can supply pics of any of the signage going south. As well, I have a decent set of pictures (primarly BGSs, shields, and mileage signs) for the US 20/31 Bypass around South Bend and Elkhart in both directions, US 31 throughout Northern Indiana from Kokomo northward to South Bend, SR 37 from Indianapolis to Bedford, US 41 from roughly Kentland south all the way to Evansville, and the Muncie Bypass (SRs 3, 67, and US 35, mostly freeway-like) in both directions. And, anywhere in Indianapolis that may not be covered. I'd love to see more coverage for the Hoosier State and would love to contribute what I have to cover some of these non-interstate routes that you or whoever may not necesarily touch.

Worked this week on a new map for the Birmingham area in ARC. I swapped out the 2002 map .gif for a new Zoomify map on the I-459 (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=i0459al) and Birmingham focus (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=birminghamal) pages this afternoon. Will be replacing some other area maps and updating pages on all Interstates and perhaps a variety of other highways in Jefferson and Shelby Counties. Well, just so you know, when you actually leave the northbound off-ramp, you encounter a sign like this:

It's a big goof, because Sumter CR 673 runs east and west, and Sumter CR 476B runs north and south. But when I told FDOT about this error, they said they were keeping it that way just because even-numbered routes are supposed to be east and west and odd-numbered routes are supposed to run north and south. They chose standards over accuracy, just like Wikipedia likes to do.
Capped off a week long series of updates for Interstate 65 (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=i0065al) southbound from the Tennessee state line to the Escambia County line (tying in with an earlier update from this year). Most photos were taken either on the way from Michigan last month, or from a trip back from Iowa via Future I-22 to I-65 south from Fultondale. The northbound guides between Montgomery and I-20/59 were updated to include photos from the way up from Michigan as well, and a few new images were added to the main I-65 guide.

Andy was going to start working on Chicago area stuff (we certainly have a ton of photos from 2005 to 2011), but he is too busy with non website things. So that work will be postponed for at least another year. I have my hands full with Indiana for now, and would rather Andy work on the Chicago area stuff given that he grew up there.
And I would love to update the I-170/US 40 guide in Baltimore showing the changed west end of the freeway. But until I get back there personally (maybe in the summer?), nothing will get updated.

Been slowly working through some Mountain West and West Coast updates. Latest updates include ... US 50 Nevada, US 50 Alt Nevada, US 95 Alt Nevada, Business 80 Sacramento, California 74, and California 99 north. Currently working on US 50 California and will soon head to Southern Nevada and Wyoming for more updates.
Let me know if anyone has requests from my end of AARoads (west coast and someday Chicago if I ever get enough time to do more than minor updates here and there). Shifted focus to updating some old Southeast Louisiana pages. Started with a revamp of I-510 (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=i0510la) to go along with new coverage of LA-47 (http://s0047la), and then updated I-310 (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=i0310la). Also created a geodatabase for New Orleans and made new maps for the Interstate Guide pages from it. New maps will replace the 2002 content in time as I move LA over to AARoads from SERoads.
I finished revamping the I-10 (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=i0010la) guides for SE LA from east of Baton Rouge to Mississippi last month and updated content for US 90 (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=u0090la), US 190 (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=u0190la) and US 61 (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=u0061la) from a couple of trips in 2008, 2009 and 2010 with Jerseyman4. I would like to do more stuff at some point too. I have some Blacksburg area photos since I go to Virginia Tech and some of the New River Valley as well. School has just completely taken over my life at this point.
Would you guys like new pictures for several highways in the California galleries? I'd be happy to offer pictures for US-101 between Paso Robles and San Francisco, all of I-680 south of the I-780 interchange, I-80 between Vallejo and US-50, I-505 and I-5 north of that, I-5 south in LA County up to Disneyland, all of US-50 in California, and CA-1 between Carmel and Santa Cruz.

Just a couple of things to point out to you:
The three power lines that cross over the Business 80 freeway near Cal Expo are (going from south to north), PG&E, SMUD, and Western Area Power Administration.
The power line that crosses over the Business 80 freeway at Marconi Avenue is actually a PG&E line.
I wonder how many other roadgeeks also are fascinated with power transmission lines. I'll have to see if there's a thread in the forum about that.

If the Facebook content is on a Page, you do not have to be a member to view it. For instance, my Millennium Highway FB page is publicly accessible. But the Millennium Highway group is restricted not only to FB members, but to members of the group.

I had intentions on adding the Pasco County stuff separate, but never got around to it. Four photos is pretty sparse for a page, but I do have new material for US 98 shot this year to post at some point.
FYI, We will be removing the following sections of the site in the coming weeks:
- Appalachian Regional Commission Development Corridors
- High Priority Corridors
- AARoads' License Plate Page
- Europe @ AARoads
Many of these pages have not been updated since before 2008 or have otherwise changed since they were originally created in the early to mid 2000s. Copies will be kept on disc/external harddrive.
I would suggest keeping the ARC and HPC pages for historical info purposes.

I see that there was an update of I-95 in Florida with future I-795 (FL 9B). I took some pics from there a few days after that.
I know its not Interstate Business Route Appreciation Week anymore, but while that was ongoing, I was early through a three-week overhaul of the Business Route Guide (http://www.interstate-guide.com/business-routes/). Just completed the last of those page revisions, which included going through every route's guide and trying to verify whether the loop or spur was still signed, decommissioned, or switched to local control. Additionally the old picture page, with photos contributed over the last 15 plus years, was retired, with most of the photos posted there moved onto the individual route pages. Also added a few taken from recent roadtrips and scanned a few maps too.
Went through some of the posts here and added the proposed routes for the Oklahoma City Boulevard Business Loop for I-40 mentioned by Eric (okroads) and the Indian Creek, MI one cited by Andy. If I missed a route, got something wrong, or forgot to upload a file, please let me know here.

Hey Alex, wouldn't the I-376 Business Loop pretty much qualify for being considered as a "Business Loop Freeways" in the 'Types' area? Sure, it does have that very small segment with the 3 traffic lights in the middle, but otherwise, it's pretty much a freeway. Maybe a 'note' for it in that section because of that?
Finished revamping all of the Delaware state route pages on the site (https://www.aaroads.com/guide.php?page=gatewayde) with all the photos I took in December and January. Plus I added more historical map scans, updated the traffic counts and also added new photos taken along the five US highways across the state. Have a couple hundred photos of Interstates 95, 295 and 495, but will probably hold off on going through those so I can focus on other areas of the site.
I am going to Arkansas Children's this month and in August, I can provide updated information and signage/photos to accompany said information. (As of 2017)

This culminates over a year of work and research, and is why our updates have trickled down over the last several months. All of the dynamically driven pages will be changed, as will the main pages. There will still be 2,000 plus html pages that need to be converted, and we'll get to those over time I hope.
A few new features will be a FAQ section to replace the bullet listed glossary page and an albums section which will host collections of photos instead of our more formal highway guides. All of the Archive pages that we've made over the last several years are being moved there. Additionally with our photo queue always growing, we'll be using that section to post some of the more recent photos.
The Shield Gallery will be reformatted next so that we can resume updating it. Unfortunately however, the shield generator will be dropped due to the issues mentioned here (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=21517.msg2278707#msg2278707).

No, they are just being reformatted/improved. We'll just be adding the new albums section to compliment the existing guides.
The guides take longer to create/update, so the albums section will be more of a mass upload of photos, allowing us to get more of our backlog posted versus waiting to have the time to compile them in a regular page.

Will do once things roll out. The bulk of the California pages will still need to be switched, so most of those url's will remain in tact for the time being.

Matt was able to get things in place, and the new design is now live. There are a number of things we have to go through still and change, like updating old links to new links in additional to dealing with the 2,000 or so old html pages.
The old html will remain in the previous template until we can get to all of those pages and convert them.

Thinking of the long term direction of AARoads, with the backlog of photos never ending, I want to start making pages that primarily focus on photos, with less verbiage to have to write or update over time. I need to come up with a separate template for this, and have only attempted a couple of concepts thus far using the current guide script or some of the Avada/Wordpress options:

I have also used NextGen Gallery to host albums or archived photos. Just put one up for IH 10 east in Texas with nothing displayed but the date taken info - https://www.aaroads.com/albums/nggallery/texas/i-010-tx-archive-east
Gives a thumbnail display with pagination options. The default template used across all photo albums in NextGen displays the caption below the photo. Can turn this off, or have it display in several other options.
NextGen Gallery uses a different database and file management system, so I don't envision using it to add main guide additions, as I want to keep files in one place for that. One possibility could be to try replicating this display in a new template.
Otherwise I want to consider other display options, and would love some additional ideas/suggestions.

Got a source on the proposal for the Walterboro Business Loop? I'll add an entry for it if there is one.
There are a couple newspaper articles from there and some Walterboro city minutes that talk about an "I-95 Business Loop project". But nowhere in anything I can find actually says SCDOT will sign anything (or even be asked to) as I-95 Business after the projects - lighting and landscaping and a lot of aesthetic stuff (no substantive road work...the route is already 4 lanes throughout).
I found no references on SCDOT's website.
The concept has been around for over 10 years now.

Well at least someone still checks the main site and provides feedback.
I drove on part of CR 576 last night, from the Suncoast to US 41. Don't have any new photos to post of County Line Road, and when I last did was doing research for my old boss on his Hernando County road atlas.
CR 576 is going to eventually be four laned, so shooting it now is probably not worth even doing:

I think it is, in spite of the proposed four-laning. You've got former segment (one of which is still a public road), and you've got sharp curves replacing former turns at 90 degree angles that are still visible in some farm fields.
With the exception of converting the page for Historic U.S. 40 in California (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/us-040-ca/) over to Wordpress, I spent the entire month of January working on Pennsylvania (https://www.aaroads.com/pennsylvania/) updates on the site.
I converted and updated 60 plus pages of old html throughout the state. Finished going through everything that I had or that Andy gave me and completed going through all the Interstates. So there's a page for everyone except for I-84 (which I most recently drove at night in 2004, and previously took back in 1996).
Today I nearly finished adding photos from on a daytrip to Gettysburg on 12/26/18 covering U.S. 30 (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/us-030-pa/) I updated the westbound pages from PA 41 to U.S. 15 Business and created a new page for Adams County on eastbound (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/us-030-east-adams-pa/).
Also made a new page for PA 462 (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/pa-462/) (Old U.S. 30) with photos from 2010
Yesterday I finished adding more recent photos covering PA 41 (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/pa-041/) and PA 82 (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/pa-082/).
Alex, should mention the 'END I-579 SB' shield on your page for I-579 (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/i-579-pa/) (last picture before the "Crosstown Boulevard - South" section) like how you did for the NB END shield. ;)
Also, I'll get around to getting you the pics of the new BGS's for the I-279/I-579 split. lol.

Among other changes, I know there are APL's on I-279 south leading to the split with I-579. Glad Andy at least covered what he did in 2010, as it gave me something to work with in redesigning all of the Pittsburgh area Interstate pages.

Do you allow guides for really short routes? I asked Alps for his site a few years ago, and he said he wasn't updating at the time. MA 108 is less than a mile long (it continues as NH 108 for quite a long while though), and I've walked it.

Posted photos covering both directions of U.S. 301 (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/us-301-de/) on First Coast Responders Highway. Updated pages for SR 1 showing the completed auxiliary lane from SR 273 south to U.S. 40 (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/de-001-south-smyrna/) and the split with U.S. 301. Further downstate, redrove SR 1 to check out the completed work at Bowers Beach Road and Clapham Road at Little Heaven (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/de-001-south-milford/) and the grade separated intersection with SR 14 at Milford (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/de-001-north-milford/).
I also expanded the coverage of U.S. 301 in Maryland (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/us-301-md/) with updated pages south from U.S. 50 to the Governor Nice Bridge and northbound from Bowie to the Delaware line. Kept going with U.S. 301 south into Virginia (https://www.aaroads.com/guides/us-301-va/) with pages from Maryland to Richmond. Will be replacing/rewriting the southbound pages for U.S. 301 in Maryland from Delaware to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Bowie soon.
Still have a few hundred more photos for Delaware, as I checked out the completed reconstruction of I-295, the removal of the "sweep" at the east end of SR 48 in Wilmington, the SR 3/Carr Road interchange project and few other minor things around New Castle County (SR 273 at SR 37, SR 72 widening, SR 141 at I-95, etc.).
I am down to just 38 routes on Interstate-Guide still using the old html table format. Updated pages with recent photos flaroads took in May and some sent to me by peterj920. Have revised/updated history sections on a number of routes with research from the AASHTO Database. I do not have a dynamic way to list updates on either AARoads or Interstate-Guide, so I have made some blog posts here and there listing some of the changes at https://www.interstate-guide.com/updates/
A few things I discovered:
The extension of I-385 south from I-85 to I-26 was originally approved by FHWA as Interstate 226 https://www.interstate-guide.com/i-385-sc/
Signs for Interstate 81E in Pennsylvania were changed to I-380 by June 1973. I-380 was fully completed in 1976, as a section was only open with two lanes between Dunmore and Elhmurst https://www.interstate-guide.com/i-380-pa/
Added a couple of map scans showing Interstate 494 in Chicago https://www.interstate-guide.com/i-494-il/
The AASHTO database has documents showing the original loop for I-494 along Lake Shore Drive, which I not seen on a road map before.
Brent found a completely uncovered shield for Interstate 885 on Memorial Day Weekend. I read up on the latest delay, and it has to do with the new railroad bridge and CSX needing to complete their end of it.

After a decade plus, I finally came up with a php script idea to automatically generate a list of updates for the site that was feasible. Thanks to Matt, the script is now a reality!

The script calls in the latest photo additions to the Wordpress based pages on the site. We have it listing the updates from the last month, with them sorted by date. The list displays the page title and state, number of photos added to it, and the dates the photos were taken. As we continue to go through older html pages and convert them, some of these may show up as well.
The next task to tackle is redo the php for the Shield Gallery and import it into Wordpress.
Went through my queue and posted everything remaining from Colorado and converted the last remaining html pages.
Moved next door to Utah and converted I-215's pages to php and swapped out 2005-12 photos with 2016/17 photos.

Thanks for letting me know. The page script was calling in the wrong directory, so it was a quick fix.
Someday I'll update the I-295 NJ pages with photos shot in 2018...
Finally added an Alaska (https://www.aaroads.com/alaska/) section to the site. Finished adding 2,154 photos from a two week trip to the Last Frontier last month. Covered the entire Interstate system, in addition to local expressways in Anchorage and Fairbanks. Our cruise took us to Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway, so walked around all three cities with the camera. Also did an excursion on Klondike Highway (SR 98) up to White Pass summit from Skagway. I tried salvaging some photos from the front seat of the motor coach on that.
I'm focused now on converting/updating the remaining html pages on southeastroads.com. I am down to just 25 pages, and once that is said and done, will be closing that site. If anyone is interested in the domain, let me know!
