I don't know why specifically, but I really like that US 95 shield. Very sharp.

My guess is that it's because it's a 1961-spec shield. Looks a lot like the modern (1970) issue, but there are some slight differences in the shield shape that give it that retro feel. (The 1970 spec has the curves bowed outward more so that it can fit two Series D digits; the 1961 could usually only handle Series C.)

Considering it was 1961 spec I had to have it.  I actually bought it off Alps after he got a pretty big haul recently. The only state I haven’t clinched US 95 in is Idaho, lots of nostalgic reasons to get a good sign to represent the highway.

Found it lying on the ground, got it and took it home with me. I’m pretty sure the empty pole is still there.

This reminds me, I got two Maximum 30 km/h signs in separate roadkill instances years apart.

I have a Nevada US 95 with the state "bar" on Scotchlite. Small version here (along with my BC 395, embossed Maine US 1 and NF 30): http://www.floodgap.com/software/huepl/scene2.jpg

I really hate how the red fades first on these things.

Why does that look like the empty pole is at the end of a cul-de-sac?  Anyway, that is the way the entire assembly should look!
