Not entirely new. There is streetview imagery of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon from 2013. Hell, there is streetview imagery of the Dry Tortugas at the end of the Florida Keys, and of some of the leeward Hawaiian Islands, from about the same time.
Also, I am mildly disappointed this thread is not a joke about Houston.

There's also some of NYC on the Hudson River
