Bruce Springsteen gets a lot of love, but what about his supporting E Street Band? Or the Machine, the Bunnymen, the Attractions, the Banshees, the Silver Bullet Band, and so on.
Here's a quiz where, given the backup band, you have to think of the artist: https://www.sporcle.com/games/kurumi/whos-the-headliner
19/28, slightly above average.
25/28...this was definitely geared towards the middle aged crowd
26/28. Christ, I listen to a lot of dinosaur rock.
11/28: I didn't know how to properly spell that Derek, and many of those artists I have never heard of. I suck.
I got 21/28. The ones I missed were ones about which I had absolutely no clue.
Minor annoyance: Why won't it accept just last names, as is normal on Sporcle? I think Springsteen, for example, is a pretty obvious one where if you know his last name you know who he is. I suppose there are others for whom this isn't necessarily the case.

I knew that one right away but could not spell souxie and the banshees

It's "Siouxsie." Pronounced "Susie." Get it?! Get it?!

I have never even heard of that group. If I had, I would have misspelled that name too.
27/28! Never heard of Robyn Hitchcock before
Ew I suck. 3/28.
24/28. A few totally obscure ones.
20 out of 28. I cheated on the rest because I was curious as to the answers.

It did occur to me that 10 minutes per question was plenty of time to Google the answer.

Google is kinda cheating, when I play sporcle I only look up spelling.
I got the first four or so, and then for some reason, my laptop froze up and I couldn't enter the next answer (which I didn't know).

I'm surprised you didn't know that one.
I found out you can edit a quiz you published, so I added some shortcuts like "Springsteen" for the full name. Also added 4 artists I had overlooked earlier so now it's 32.
It still has very much a Dad Rock feel, as that particular "X and the Y" form seems more rarely used now. The idea of a backup band is just less of a thing. Instead of "Ariana Grande and the Pollos Locos" it's a couple artists that might team up for a song (Katy Perry feat. Migos etc.).
There's plenty of great music being made right now (not on the radio, but that matters less every year), but not much in the "X and the Y" form.

i knew her name was an alternate spelling of susie, and that there was a u and and x but still had problems
28/32 this time. Another modern one to maybe add: The Night Sweats.
23/32 this time, only a little better than the first time around.

Actually, I said "or so." I don't really remember where I was when things froze up and I couldn't continue, but it was one that I wasn't sure about.
This is going to be tough...
25/32. Really haven't kept up with much since around 2002 or so; my own music library peters out about then. Let's put it this way -- a couple of weeks ago I stumbled across a bunch of old mono Beatles albums in pristine condition at a Goodwill while my GF was looking for ceramic ramekins -- and I nearly cried with joy at the $2.49/each price. Made me real glad I blew some bucks a while back on a decent monaural phono cartridge with which to play the suckers! Would rather find more of this sort than newer stuff that seems mostly derivative!
BTW, my GF got 28/32 -- she listens to FM while driving to work; since my commute is only 3 miles/direction, there's little time for the type of random input that keeping up with musical trends seems to require.
78%. Not bad considering I listen to very few "and the" artists.
