There are quite a few from the NFL.

The Washington then-Redskins fired Jay Gruden in October 2019 after a 33-7 loss to the Patriots, the latest defeat in an abysmal 0-5 start to the season. In his press conference that day, GM Bruce Allen was asked about the "culture" of the team during the rough stretch. He replied, "You know, the culture is actually damn good . . . "

What section did he post that in? I'm not coming up with anything on a search. Didn't know there were any NFL staff members on the forum, actually.
Should be in the FritzOwl thread.

I took the inclusion of "road-related" to make "here" mean "here on this forum". That certainly seems to be the assumption of everyone else in the thread.
Sorry, I didn't read the OP . . . seeing as this is in Off-Topic I figured that maybe, just maybe, going off-topic was okay?

Correct. Here on this forum (or MTR if anyone wants to go back that far).

I'm been generally surprised over the years how many people seem to think that CA 58 west of I-5 merits consideration of being an extension of I-40.  If anything statements such as that highlight the difference between driving a roadway versus just looking it on Google Maps.

I think it should be, and I've never driven it. It should be done for system connectivity, volumes be darned. The volumes could be 50 vpd and it wouldn't do much to change my opinion.

I think I counted 15 cars west of McKittrick to Santa Margarita the last time I drove CA 58 from CA 33 to US 101.

(Example I would like to forget: Someone for some inexplicable reason posted a thread about pulling back infants' foreskins. That was thankfully locked and deleted very quickly.)

Was that one actually created? I only remember it mentioned in the "threads you'll never see" thread.

I might be mistaken. It could well be that I was so startled by it that I thought it was a thread, but I'm thankful that I don't remember the exact circumstances, if that makes any sense!

I read it and it got deleted before I had a chance to chime in.

If it was ever a thread, definitely and surprisingly it wasn't created by me. However I posted something like that in the Threads you'll never see on AARoads thread (RIP) as an pretty obvious example, and that may have sparked the confusion.

Well, now the second sentence seems more frivolous and unnecessary than the I-40 extension itself!

"I-70 doesn't serve Baltimore" seems to be the current flavor of the month.

I'm so guilty here.  Once upon a time, I made an slightly snarky comment that I had never used I-70 to go to Baltimore, and that seemed to be the spark that set all of this off.  To be perfectly honest, I've used I-70 to leave Baltimore many times.  But I always came in from the south (I-95, I-895, I-395, US-1, Baltimore-Washington Parkway, MD-3, I-97 and even the Penn Line and Camden Line), oftentimes to go see the Orioles play.  Coming in on I-70 was always to avoid D.C. when heading to Philly and beyond.  :pan: :pan:

If it's any consolation, I think the beginning of it was actually quoting this 10-year-old post in the "Changing Control Cities" thread:

I seem to recall that signs on I-70 eastbound in Maryland alternate between Baltimore and Washington as the control city (I-270 splits off at Frederick to go south to the DC Beltway while I-70 continues east to the Baltimore area). I haven't been on there since January and I wasn't particularly paying attention to the signs at the time.

Both are really incorrect. Washington for obvious reasons, and as I-70 does not actually go to Baltimore it should say "Baltimore Beltway" to emphasize its incompleteness.
"Now, what if da Bearss were to enter the Indianapolis 5-hunnert?"
"How would they compete?"
"Let's say they rode together in a big buss."

"Of course!"

What I was looking for was a rundown of statements made here (or MTR) that are on their face absurd, have been deservedly ridiculed, and in normal cases would cause great shame to the original poster (especially if they double down on them later).

Of course "Hi viatologists" ranks right up there.

And I'm surprised no one has called anyone out yet if they ever said they like Clearview better than Highway Gothic.  :-D

Pretty much anything ever uttered by Mike Ballard this last half decade regarding the Old Ridge Route.  The assault on Facebook groups and particular individuals that didn't line up with the views of the Ridge Route Preservation Group certainly are a stain in California road circles.
