Turcot interchange in Montreal, configuration coming soon
« on: April 11, 2009, 09:50:26 AM »

I spotted the plans of the reconfigurated Turcot interchange, the ultimate plan at
http://www.bape.gouv.qc.ca/sections/mandats/Complexe_Turcot/documents/PR3.1/PR3.1_chapitres4-5.pdf
it's figure 5 who also show some additionnals ramps, new local streets and proposed bike paths

here the Wiki entry about the interchange

So what is wrong with the current interchange? It looks as good as anything in Texas.

Oh wait, I've just looked on Google Maps and the aerial view shows massive queues. The angle of the sun suggests it's the evening rush hour but then again everywhere else is normally busy at that time.

The current interchange show its age (it was opened in 1967) and the structures are not in very good shape. Lots of peoples cross their fingers hoping it won't collapse like the I-35 bridge when they pass thru that interchange. Here a fanvideo from 2009.
