Recently, I came across a couple of photos from the construction of SE McLoughlin Boulevard in Portland from its construction in 1934. Vintage Portland has been able to procure these photos and some more old road photos around Portland as well.

Good finds Doug!  McGloughlin/99E is my fave highway for coming into and moving about the PDX metro area. 

Here's a little note.  The Bomber no longer has the B-17 over what were the gas pumps.  It has been removed for restoration but this won't be a quick one.  You would enjoy how the viaduct project came out too.

US 101 is THE backbone of the Pacific coast from Bandon OR to Willits CA.  Industry, tourism and local traffic would be gone or severely crippled without it being in functioning condition in BOTH states.
