ISTHA corrected them.  There are no plans for any toll increase currently.
QuoteThe Illinois Tollway doesn't plan to increase tolls and hasn't discussed doing so, top officials said Monday.

Responding to a published report, the officials also said the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority is on solid financial ground, unlike the state of Illinois, because tolls are pumped directly back into the agency and revenues are strong.

They need to double check their information more often with the actual authority itself.

Article has the location of the Prairie Parkway wrong; it's I-80 to I-88, not I-90 to I-88 - though I'm surprised there hasn't been talk of a northward extension of the route to I-90.

In the CATS 2010 Plan, there is a provision for an expressway along that route between I-88 and I-90 (and north to US-12), but no provision for the Prairie Parkway (Kendall County only came to prominence in the past 15 years).

I wonder if they might take it to I-90 it would make it more viable sooner
Combined with the Illiana to 1-55 there would be an outer beltway

Crains also did not note that the new tollways have higher rates and I assume these wouldhave higher ones as well so the new roads would have to pay a lot of their own way so perhaps they wont need such a big toll increase.

They  could wait if they protect the ROW
