Not unlucky at all.  Why is it considered so unlucky?  Friday's usually a good day.  And 13 is a great number - 13 colonies -> 13 states, 13 to a baker's dozen, etc.

I believe it was on a Friday the 13th in 1307 A.D. that the king of France, in collaboration with the Pope, went after & destroyed most of the Knights Templar so he could get their money.

I agree. Especially considering the "unlucky" day in my area of the World is Tuesday the 13th (next happening in February, so there will be two months with a Tuesday the 13th in a row).
Supporter of the construction of several running gags, including I-366 with a speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h) and the Hypotenuse.

Numbers are not feelings.

Not with that attitude.
Attitude does not matter. Numbers will never be feelings.

Since people are treated as numbers, and people have feelings; therefore, numbers are people, too.

If you'll excuse me, I have some numerals to console. Just ten, because they're commutative and associative.

Unfortunately, yes, they are, number 13911.

Calling people numbers is dehumanizing, whether it's "this girl is a 7 out of 10" or "prisoner number #32767".

The one exception is my username "1". (3467 is not active anymore.)

Go to university... you're just a number there... even though they try to deny that.

Of course, there are other examples too.

For the record, here is part of mine: 77*1*8* (the * are other numbers, prefer not to say them here)

Try working at a casino–just your signature is not enough for anything, it must be always accompanied by a gaming badge number. For two years I had to sign '8338' as part of my signature. Now, it's a different, six-digit number. The newest hires are unlucky to be saddled with an eight-digit one.

Those that are issued radios have it even worse, as they get a three-digit radio call sign and are not allowed to refer to each other by name on the radio, always only by call sign.

Which, if you multiply all the 1s, you wind up with 319.  Or, if you multiply 3 x 1 and multiply 9 x 1, you also wind up with 319.

Which, since high school, has been MY lucky number.

If you're using signed 16-bit integers, your prison is full :-)

That presumes the first prisoner was assigned the number 1.  The other day I saw an Amfleet car numbered 82478.  Amtrak doesn't own 82,478 individual Amfleet cars.

If you care whether or not you're using signed 16-bit integers, you would have assigned the first prisoner the number 0.

In the civilized society, you wouldn't have a prison with anywhere near 30,000 people. Unless it's some sort of dystopian society, starring an insanely-crooked politician.
