And, while I was searching for that 66, I found one of the last remaining original N-III milestones at the highway side (km 62). The highway was built over the old national road at that section and most of the old signage was removed, hope it lasts even more decades!
(This pic doesn't actually count, just was for showing a rare finding)

Dang, I hoped to use this lovely milestone but I misremembered the distance (the railway is 80 miles to Southampton, so I went looking for a picture now we're in the late 70s, knowing that they are still extant at 1, 2 and 3 miles - having walked past them many times, and not bothering to get a picture). Sadly it's 75 miles by road, so this 74 was the highest number on them, so I've missed the boat. :(
