Court Street, Hanford, CA

I was passing through Hanford today and I noticed that there was a street blade in downtown for "Court Street."  It turns out that the sidewalk through the center square of the city was once an active roadway at least until 1938:

For whatever reason the signage for Court Street was kept.  Kind strange a city so small has a bunch of interesting road related finds like China Alley and old CA 198.  Relatively minor find but I thought it was interesting enough, especially considering how nice it makes downtown look compared to how a similar project turned sour in Fresno with Fulton Street.

It appears Court Street was likely built in 1896 as it doesn't appear on the city map in 1892.  I found a 1938 map of Hanford showing Court Street as an active roadway.
