My guess? Someone had a contract to put up new signs. Nothing in the contract said anything about taking down the old ones.

I have never experienced stricter no parking enforcement anywhere than at BDL...

This is so interesting.  Obviously there is some overkill, but I wonder if people think whether there should be a requirement for road signs (STOP, YIELD, maybe some others) that are similar to the requirmenets for signal faces.  The MUTCD has always recommended two signal faces at a signalized intersection (in case one is blocked or a light bulb is burned out), and more recent MUTCD recommends a minimum of one signal face per lane to enhance visibility.  Should the same not apply to a stop sign?  Would a sign per lane rule be helpful on wider streets so that drivers can see the stop signs?

Why think about where signs should go when you can just post another street blade on the no u-turn sign's supports?

Doesn't seem redundant, both share the same name and one is an older alignment. (Also the two alignments have different numbers.) I gotta wonder why the hell are the blades hung up like that, though.

All sorts of redundancy with this one. They could've removed the old tabs when they replaced the older unisign some years back (go back to 2007) but they didn't. They did remove the extra SOUTH though :-D

They had two occasions to have a properly colored TOLL plate and missed both.

You think that's bad, check out how badly the City of Sanibel, Florida wants you to stop at the intersection of Causeway Boulevard, Lindgren Boulevard, and Periwinkle Way.

My town used to have one of these, except on a one-way, and double (removed as of 2020 I believe). https://www.google.com/maps/@39.9305554,-91.4033532,3a,44.9y,68.23h,82.76t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1suurxnULTMx5mkK3n4A0T_g!2e0!5s20190801T000000!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205409&entry=ttu

The double STOP sign installations were not too common, but occasionally found in the wild of the Cleveland, OH metro area well into the 70s.  Perhaps an exclusive to that particular ODOT district???

Also bad because the MUTCD prohibits using two stop signs on one pole for emphasis like this.

I touched those routes in June 2023 meaning that they infected my Top Stats List on Travel Mapping (https://travelmapping.net/user/topstats.php?units=miles&u=markkos1992&).

Dammit, it's gone.  I drove from Detroit to Mansfield yesterday specifically to get a photo of this, and it's been replaced with a new run-of-the-mill NORTH US-42/TRUCK OH-13 assembly.  (I got 100+ new sign photos along the trip there and back so the day wasn't a loss, but still.)

^^ I guess they finally realized somebody got all trucked up when they installed that assembly...
