Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

^^ and the front signs are too small for a freeway, per MUTCD requirements.

This here is double redundancy. :bigass:
That's from February '24. There's '23 imagery that also shows the same thing, and there's August '24 imagery and pre '23 imagery that shows only the larger signs. So one wonders, whose bright idea was it to add those dinky signs and leave them up for a year?

To avoid creating a new Department of Redundancy Department of Redundancy Department of Redundancy Department of Redundancy Department of Redundancy Department of Redundancy Department thread, I'll just use this one.

Philadelphia has at least 2 intersections in South Philly with 6 street blades!

Packer Ave and 10th Street and Packer Ave and Darien Street (which would be about 8.5th street if a numbered street) both feature 6 street blades: 1 on each pole for the traffic lights, then 1 on each traffic light mast for the cross street.  The traffic ligths and assemblies are all new, when a casino was built between 10th and Darien, so it's not the case of someone not taking down old signage.  They are all brand new as of a few years ago.

^I think this is proof that Philly signage is at least serviceable (minus PA 3).

I love the tiny shields inside the street blades.😀

Some of us remember when they would just use the merge ahead symbol for this, so it's welcome, even when repeated.

When you're waiting in line for the ferry, and the traffic is inching forward at about a snail's pace, it's easy to forget what that sign 20 feet back said.

All of a sudden, three roads come in on the left in rapid succession. Hey, don't say we didn't warn you.

Was that originally a dual carriageway or did the road get slightly realigned at some point?
It's all fun & games until someone summons Cthulhu and brings about the end of the world.

I also collect traffic lights, road signs, fans, and railroad crossing equipment.

It was a dual carriageway. There are many examples of this -- especially in Illinois along the old US-66 alignment and sections of existing US-40.  I guess the states wish to keep the ROW, but wish to save on the maintenance costs on those little used stretches.

As time goes on, the road is handling more and more traffic trying to bypass the rush hour traffic on I-15. Maybe they'll decide it needs to be four lanes after all.

And in historical imagery, it used to be "BUMP BUMP" and then "BUMP DIP".

BUMP BUMP
DIP DIP
HOP HOP
SKIP SKIP
if I can BUMP
and I can DIP
if I can HOP
and I can SKIP
then you can BUMP and HOP and DIP and SKIP
when you go on your big road TRIP
