Here's a photo which Gulf Power just posted on Facebook in an album highlighting their response to a recent tornado in Escambia County, Florida.

An old, tired stop sign. It's looked like this for the entire decade-plus that I've lived in the area. What interests me even more about this sad sign is that it is just a block away from a very well-to-do part of town (old money). I'm surprised the locals haven't clamored for it's removal and replacement.

It's located in Middletown, Kentucky.

I've never seen signs do that before. Most sun-damaged signs just fade.

I think I remember passing this sign in this condition (the right one, the left one is funky due to 60 Hz electric) in January 2015 (per my biking records) but I don't seem to have a photo of it.

I don't think the top is "missing"...it looks like it is lying on the ground at the foot of the posts.

You're probably right. I didn't notice that, good catch :)

When I went out to get pictures of the remaining Carver County segments of MN-101, back in May of 2014, I found this at the county line:

Not sure if it was ever fixed, because the next year that was all ripped up and replaced with a new bridge across the Minnesota River anyway.

Edit: Goddamn, that picture is less than two days away from being three years old. My how time flies.

Re the above photo, I'm more interested in what MnDOT was doing to the rumble strips there; it looks like they're trying to pave them over. I wish NJDOT did that with Route 12's shoulder rumble strips so I can go biking on that road again.

Back on topic, outside of my work on US 1, leftover damage from yesterday's severe thunderstorms though this is slightly more expensive:

I haven't gotten a pic of it because I usually zip by it at around 60 mph, but the BGS 1 mile advance for Exit 16 on MA 3 in Weymouth lost its Route 18 shield during the recent Nor'easter.

I was browsing through GMSV, and I saw something I honestly wasn't expecting to see. On Interstate 75 Southbound entering Georgia from Tennessee, the state welcome sign (for GA) appeared to have come off or something and then been flipped upside down. It truly took me by surprise, because I never remember seeing this in real life (and I travel on this stretch of road all the time, and always have, because it is in my neck of the woods), which is the weird thing. I wonder if a storm or something of that sort was the cause of this. It is very strange indeed, but it has obviously been fixed since then, and very long ago.  :-D

Not damaged, but a 55 mph sticker came loose during high winds revealing the original 70 mph in 1977 (NMSL era):

Was working on some webpages when I came across this picture I had taken of a crossbuck near Athens, AL that's somewhat faded and beat-up and has had an arrow shot through it:
