For US highways, I have been on tiny stretches of US 20 and US 6, but none of US 30

Checking my logs: The longest I haven't touched is I-A1 in Alaska.  After that, I am unsure about I-8 (although I could swear I ended up on a short section of it around Yuma; just not sure where, exactly).  After that, I-A4...after that, I-45.

Going by the Wikipedia page linked to on page one, the answer for me is I-10.  I've driven long lengths of the two longest at the same time, and a short stretch of I-40 where the imaginary segment of I-74 "overlaps" it.

Looks like I-72 is the longest Interstate I've never traveled upon.

Mainlines remaining: 19, 11, and "southern" 87.

The top ten longest interstates are:

1. => I-90 (check)

2. => I-80 (check)

3. => I-40 (check)

4. => I-10 (check)

5. => I-70 (check)

6. => I-95 (check)

7. => I-75 (check)

8. => I-94 (check)

9. => I-35 (X)

10. => I-20 (check)

I pinpointed which of these interstates I have been on, and which ones I haven't been on. I have been on all of the top-ten longest interstates except I-35. This makes I-35 the longest interstate I have not been on in real life. Although, when I went to the DFW Metro Area in July 2015, I did cross over I-35 two times. I crossed over I-35E in Dallas, and I crossed over I-35W in Fort Worth. I never actually went on Interstate 35, though.

Sortable table here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Interstate_Highways

I-85 barely counts: we used a short overlap with I-285 long ago

Longest never traveled at all: I-59

85 never overlaps 285. They're different roadways, even when they're parallel.

That is correct. For that short stretch, it's like an interstate within an interstate.

Sortable table here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Interstate_Highways

I actually had no idea you could sort tables on Wikipedia in a different way than they were organized initially. I just learned something new - thank you very much!  :thumbsup:

The longest has to be I-10. I've crossed it at I-75 a few times

I-20.
Crossed it in two different places (Birmingham and Atlanta) but never been on it.

Longest one for outstanding north-south interstates must be I-77.

Longest interstate I haven't been on is western I-84.

EDIT: I forgot that I-84 has a concurrency with I-15 in Utah that I've been on.  I've also been on I-29, I-85 and I-77 solely due to concurrencies with other interstates, so the longest one I haven't been on is I-49.

I've been on at least part of every x0 and x5.

I-90 for me. In fact I've never been on a Interstate, derived from the fact I've never been to the USA yet.

I-40 is the longest I have missed. The longest N-S interstate I have missed is I-15.

EDIT: I was on I-10, but only as a passenger, if that matters.

I-40 is the longest I haven't been on (3rd longest). Also haven't been on most of the ones down the list from there.

US-60 is the longest US highways I've never been on (5th longest).

It's either I-80, I-15 or Western I-84 - ironically all travel in or near SLC.

I went to conferences in Reno and SLC in the late 90s, but took a taxi from the airport to the convention center and don't know the route we took in either place.

If you went to downtown SLC, you probably took both I-80 and I-15.

Actually, probably not I-15. The fastest way from the SLC airport to the convention center is almost certainly the 600 and 500 South ramps directly from I-80; that movement does not involve I-15. That interchange was reconfigured around 2000, but I’m fairly sure the actual 15/80 merge point was still beyond the downtown viaducts.

Though unlikely, there's a chance that your taxi took North Temple into the city, which doesn't use any freeways. If you remember taking a freeway, it was almost certainly I-80.

I have a photo of I-20 shields from Terrell, TX; Tuscaloosa, AL; Atlanta, GA; and Birmingham, AL.  But at no point did I actually drive on any of I-20's carriageways.  Second place goes to I-85

I’ve been on all the x0s now, though I didn’t have any standalone mileage on I-40 until this year. I-45 is the only x5 I haven’t been on, having come close to its northern terminus and crossing it in Houston.

I-35 I briefly used I-35W during my last Twin Cities trip

So mine would be I-10

^ Technically, I-35W in the Twin Cities is separate from I-35.  I-35 "follows" I-35E through St. Paul both legislatively and via mileposts.
