West Virginia
The northbound onramp for Exit 53A from Oakwood Road onto the I-64 Fort Hill Bridge in Charleston has an AADT of 21,688. It has a significant imbalance, as the southbound (westbound) offramp only has an AADT of 7,433. The other two ramps are only 2,847 and 2,630. But if the numbers are correct, it's probably the busiest in the state. (Knowing Charleston, it is entirely possible that the morning rush hour traffic from the South Hills dumps onto I-64 and the evening rush hour into the South Hills avoids I-64 at all costs).
The westbound onramp for Exit 5 from the West Huntington Bridge onto I-64 has an AADT of 12,058 (2020). This ramp carries US-52 southbound. It also has a significant imbalance, as the eastbound offramp only has an AADT of 2,571. That's less than half of the eastbound onramp, which has an AADT of 6,406. The westbound offramp has an AADT of 6,398. Something smells wrong with the data here.
The eastbound offramp for Exit 96 at the north end of the West Virginia Turnpike has an AADT of 10,300 (2020). This ramp carries US-60 eastbound. It's counterpart, the westbound onramp, only has an AADT of 5,694. I feel like I'm scratching on a broken record here.
The westbound onramp for Exit 8 from Fifth Street (WV-527/WV-152) onto I-64 in Huntington has an AADT of 9,797 (2020).
The northbound offramp for Exit 179 from I-77 to Emerson Avenue in Parkersburg has an AADT of 8,635 (2020). Which is not free-flowing. This one carries WV-2 northbound, and the Emerson Avenue exit is also the north end of WV-68. Care to guess? It's counterpart for southbound I-77/WV-2 only has an AADT of 3,141.
The eastbound onramp for Exit 0 onto I-70 has an AADT of 8,625. That one carries southbound US-250 off of Wheeling Island. It's westbound offramp counterpart only has an AADT of 4,030.
The southbound offramp for Exit 119 from I-79 onto US-50 in Clarksburg has an AADT of 7,933. Eastbound traffic onto US-50 has a stop light, but eastbound traffic here is free-flowing. The parclo onramp from US-50 eastbound to I-79 northbound has an AADT of 5,681.
The eastbound offramp for Exit 1 from I-68 onto US-119 in Morgantown has an AADT of 7,326.
The southbound offramp for Exit 12 onto WV-9 and WV-45 in Martinsburg has an AADT of 7,126. It's northbound onramp counterpart has an AADT of 6,819.
The northbound offramp for Exit 155 at Star City has an AADT of 6,148. It's counterpart onto southbound I-79 has an AADT of 5,123. This is the main exit for West Virginia University's Evansdale Campus.
Amazingly, the only non-qualifier here is westbound left-hand onramp at Exit 1B onto I-70 from the short US-250 freeway on the east side of the Wheeling Tunnel. It has an AADT of 10,802 and its eastbound counterpart offramp has an AADT of 7,704. The other ramps have substantial AADT counts as well. It might be the busiest in the state, but alas it doesn't qualify.
