Arkansas May Becoming A Mixed Use State For Lane Lines

I figured out what "Enhanced Pavement Marking" was referring to on CA0608.

As, most know that have traveled through or live in Arkansas, you may have taken notice of the lane lines used at various points during your travel from surface street, state/US highway, or Interstate within the state. Traditionally, Arkansas uses what ArDOT refers to as "Contrast Lane Lines", where there is a side border of black on either side of a white line; on road surfaces where the concrete is bleached. Now, I believe there is either a transition towards, or mixed use occurring where we may(<- this word shall be regarded as speculative, pertaining to context) end up having black/white, white/black (subject to direction of travel) lane lines or both.

The only issue with mixed use is that it indicates that a state can't or hasn't determined which lane line design provides the safety in any condition that that specific state is looking for. IMO.

I think previous research has borne out that no one style of contrasting lane lines improves visibility or safety more than the other, rather just having the contrasting white and black on lighter pavements is the determining factor.

I think this is just a weird one-off case because it's a construction zone. That setup would be confusing as hell in everyday use.

I honestly don't care what is used as long as I can see them. I remember when I lived in St Louis that a lot of stripes disappeared in the rain especially at night. I have no idea why. (Paint? Bleached surface? Pigeon guano?) I just know that I would never go to clubbing on rainy nights because of the awful lane visibility on both the streets and freeways.
