A first part of the ongoing work on Autoroute 30 has been finished today. The section between the current A-30 in St-Constant and A-15 in Delson is finished and was open to the public today. A-30 now splits from its former alignment at km 88 and goes East to connect to A-15 in Delson, from which drivers can reach QC-132 and the other section of A-30 towards Sorel and Québec City. The remaining kilometre or so to connect directly to that section will open next year.

The old alignment of A-30 between km 88 and its end at QC-132 has been renumbered to A-730.

Yes, the sat pics on Google Maps were from the early moments of the construction. You can also see more bits of construction as you cross towards A-15, where the interchange is visible.

MapArt has been showing the new A-30 route in some of their maps as well.

Cool.  I love Montreal and have driven up a few times (but it's been four years), and I remember all those "30?  Quand?" (30?  When?) bumper stickers you'd see in places along the South Shore.
RIP Dad 1924-2012.

Or "La 30 en 1992 !", which is another common bumper sticker. :p
