In Chicagoland--wind and rain with daytime temperatures in the low 40s.  Then it RISES to the low 50s overnight, and starts dropping into the lower 30s.  The warmest temperatures of the entire month of December might occur in the middle of the night.  How bizarre is that?

Perhaps about as bizarre as the possible thunderstorm that central Iowa is supposed to get this afternoon. Nothing's happened yet, though.

Edit: Radar image looks somewhat promising. If it's going to be a thunderstorm, it's going to be a really weak one.

So it ended up that I got some pretty clouds passing over, then right before the rain started, I saw one distinct bolt of lightning (+ thunder). It's still raining right now.

Apparently supposed to piss rain here in Arlington, VA tomorrow. Far cry from the gorgeous and sunny but cool weather of the last few days. Back to sun by Saturday, I hear. Temps boiling near 60!

Alps

It's dark out, with a chance of airflow.

ipeters61

Weirdly 61 degrees and rainy today (1.1" expected), then a sunny weekend (51 on Saturday, 45 on Sunday).  At the ocean (Bethany Beach), it's 60 degrees and rainy today (0.6" expected), and a sunny weekend (53 on Saturday, 45 on Sunday).

Roughly two inches of rain in the last ~12 hours, with lots more to come. Atlanta has now surged into 4th place on the all-time annual rainfall total leaderboard (possibly 3rd by the time I write this, as we were only a half-inch away two hours ago).

We're in Viera. 76° and cloudy, but 85% humidity. Looks like we left the nice weather in the Miami area.

We're looking at a warm and slightly drier than previously expected end to the year. It's 54 degrees right now with temperatures expected to rise slightly overnight and eventually end up near 70 by tomorrow afternoon. We may see a few showers, but the bulk of the rain now isn't expected to arrive until right around midnight New Year's Eve.

We're back home. It's supposedly 62° outside. Doesn't feel like it. Yesterday was rainy and the air still feels damp and cool. I suppose it's warm for this time of year, though. Feels like one of those November days where you have to dress more warmly than you expect if you go out for a walk.

Snow levels on the mountains are 60% of normal now (was 40%), and so far has been a near dud winter again.

Cloudy and mid-50s. Off-and-on rain, as per usual. We should finally start drying out tomorrow.
