Have any of you in the northeast lost power during the storm? I have not.

I still have power. The strongest winds should be at about 7 PM.

I’m in Nova Scotia. Wind gusts are 110 (65mph) right now…..and we haven’t lost power.  After receiving about 5cm (2”) of snow yesterday it quickly changed to rain….and is still raining right now.

Temp is dropping to 10F (-12 C) tonight.

What storm? I'm in the Northeast of Spain and it's sunny. But we should get rain from evening through Sunday.

Lucked out my way. Outages inland were not nearly that bad, compared to the coastline getting pounded badly.

Lost power for 1 minute yesterday, but places around me were out for 2 hours.  I've been pretty lucky; didn't lose power during Hurricane Irene, the October Surprise snowstorm of 2011, or Hurricane Sandy.

Hurricane Sandy.
Do you have god like wires?
Or do you live in a place where Sandy didn't affect you that much?

You know, after seeing "Hurricane" Sandy's "devastation," I think northeasterners are a bunch of wimps.

MTA raises an eyebrow at your sarcasm.  The destruction wreaked on the subway was considerable and took many months to repair.

I live about 25 miles inland.  It hit NJ and NY much harder.  My area was affected more by Snowtober 2011 than Sandy.  Being in an area that did not lose power, we had lines over a quarter mile long for the two gas stations at the top of my street of people getting gas for their cars and generators.  A few years before, the power company decided to trim limbs on my street, so the chances of a limb snapping and falling on the wires was minimal.  Plus, I'm on the same circuit as a hospital, so we get top billing.

Heck, the damage from Sandy STILL isn't fully repaired.  That's why the L train will be shutting down.  Also the reason why the Gateway project is so critical to the area.

I often think that to. Snowstorms can be dangerous and devastating but look at Houston last year.
