Here is one of many in Dothan, AL.

Mmmm..... sine salad at Waffle House  :coffee:  ;-)

Most of this in Dothan is cause redundancy of two of the same signs on both sides the highway.  Ahead before the Waffle House, is a large shield assembly that is placed on both sides with the same exact shields, so that a motorists on either side during a traffic jam at the signal, can see the different routes.

At least here ALDOT has overheads for the US routes, which helps as US 231 turns the corner ahead.  However, many in Dothan have been removed and not replaced.  So you must read through the many shields to see where your route is.  When stopped at the various signals its okay, but when the signal is green and clear of stopped cars, the redundant left and right side shields can create a distraction to read as many won't know they are the same on left as right, and even one shield is way too many.

I found one on my trip to Texas (street view link). TX 71 at TX 45/130 in Austin.

I've got three, though I don't know if any or all of them count for what your looking for. Here's the first one from Downtown Cincinnati:

Skye

This one from Portsmouth, OH has three in the background. The two state routes should have "To" in front of them.

Skye

Lastly from Hamilton, OH. This is facing southbound on US 127. There was an older picture back on page 1 of this post from northbound approaching the same intersection.

This here says a lot crossing the county line from Colleton County into Dorchester County in SC.

They expect motorists to read six mileage points?

They do in Australia (except being km points, naturally). Not unusual to find a surfeit of destinations on guidance signage, some in parentheses.

Haven't we had some discussion before about roads with multiple auxiliary designations? Both routes with two separate numbers and/or designations, like the above, or one route having two designations.

The one closest to me in that latter category is probably Business Alternate US 58 in Norton, Va., but I know that a lot of the posted truck routes in Pennsylvania jacked that number way up.

I think this sign is unnecessarily confusing.  In most cases, a mileage sign will occur after a major higway junction, not before.

One sign should have Kirkwood - Windsor - Scranton - NYC (81 south, 86 east) and one sign should have Owego - Elmira - Corning (86 west 17 west).

Since NYC is listed on the upcoming pull-through signage it should be listed in the mileage sign.  But all of this should be after the split, not before.

You mean this sign?

It is a sine salad, so yes NYSDOT expects them to read it!  :D

In Wisconsin, the salad is almost always one big piece of lettuce.

Unless you are stopped at the signal, you won't be able to retain all the information except for the shields.

That's pretty tame.

Interesting that each direction of MS-19 and MS-35 got its own assembly, but MS-12 had to double-up.

Alabama is one not far from MS with the same.

Dothan, Alabama's Ross Clark Circle has plenty.
