While working on the Hoover Dam (US 466 specifically) blog entry I stumbled upon an old bookmark I had for historical highway maps on nevadadot.com.  Essentially NDOT has all the critical highway era maps along with several others all organized in an easy to access location:

Not sure if you meant to link the photo, or the actual URL of those maps: https://www.nevadadot.com/travel-info/maps/historical-maps

And actually, at least for the statewide tourist maps, UNR has the same collection scanned at higher quality: http://contentdm.library.unr.edu/cdm/search/collection/hmaps/searchterm/highway/field/map/mode/all/conn/and/order/date/ad/asc/cosuppress/1

They're part of the "Nevada in Maps" digital archives of the Mary B. Ansari Map collection, which is part of the De La Mare Library (the mining and engineering library on campus). The NDOT maps (plus a few others) are accessible via the collections interface/viewer, so it isn't as easy as just opening NDOT's PDF scans. But the scans here are much higher quality and very clear (and include the opposite side with the tourist and other info).

No, I certainly didn't mean to link over a photo of Kaiser Pass Road.  I'll go back and fix the link the original post when I get to a computer.  I think that I posted this thread immediately after a thread about white knuckle roads in General Highways.  The first link is the one I was trying post, totally invaluable resource I wish every DOT had.  I'll have to check out the second link,
I noticed the PDF versions were a little blurry zoomed in as well.
