... this is a fun one. State route is tough because the network is so much more extensive, and they're often used for local trips and not as memorable. I think I got it, but subject to confirmation later.

State Route: NY 383 south of NY 252/RIT, ~15 miles away
US Route: US 20 between I-390 and Bloomfield, ~22 miles away
Interstate: I-86 between NY 36 and I-390, 76 miles away I-481 north of I-90, ~70 miles away

Not much has changed here, other than an answer I had incorrect before.

Adding my answers to some of the other categories:

Closest exit: NY 390 Exit 25 - Vintage Ln (~10 miles)
Closest Interstate exit: I-490 Exit 1 - NY 19 (~25 miles)
Closest freeway of any type: NY 690 north of NY 370 (~55 miles)

Closet 2di segment: My (incorrect) previous overall answer: I-86 between NY 36 and I-390 (~75 miles)
Closest 3di segment: Same as above: I-481 north of I-90 (~70 miles)
Closest overall 2di: Very close race between I-68 (~240 miles) and I-91 (~250 miles)
Closest overall 3di: I-781 NY (~115 miles)

Home state 2di's, never been on: none
Home state 3di's, never been on: I-678, I-781, I-787, I-890, I-295, I-495, I-695
Home state interstates, unclinched: I-84, I-86, I-87, I-88, I-90 (only missing free I-90 in Albany), I-95, I-278, I-678, I-781, I-684, I-787, I-890, I-295, I-495, I-695

Closest overall US Route: US 4 (~190 miles)
Closest overall State Route: Tough, but having recently crossed off NY 246 and NY 262, I think it's NY 90 (~40 miles)
Closest numbered state border crossing: NY 36/PA 249

I didn't answer Closest stretch of Interstate in either direction because I wasn't sure exactly what was meant. But I'll answer it if someone clarifies.

If you break down all the interstates into individual segments (generally between exits), what is the closest one to you that you have not clinched. Same for US highways and state highways.
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

OK, so no different than closest interstate segment you haven't been on, which I already answered.

State Road: bits of AL 75 northeast of AL 227

I clinched AL 75 last summer, so now it's the section of Tennessee SR 129 that's east of US 431.

QuoteUS Route: US 11 north of Fort Payne near I-59

The section from Hammondville to Sulphur Springs has been closed for bridge repairs for several months, but it recently reopened to traffic. Finishing up US 11 within Alabama is still on the to-do list...

QuoteInterstate: I-269 in Mississippi

Scooped up this one back in March, but my closest is still I-269 in Tennessee north of SR 193.

Bickendan

At this very moment, CA 41, followed by CA 229, 46, and 58.

Interstate: I-80 between Laramie, WY and Big Springs, NE (at I-76).
US Highway: US 85 north of County Road O in Greeley, CO.
State Highway: CO 88 from Dartmouth Ave. to US 85

I guess clinching highways in the Denver metro hasn't been as high of a priority. Time to take some drives.
So many miles and so many roads

I knocked out every Denver (not Boulder) highway that I hadn't already been on in a 6 hour drive one day, most of them highways up in your neck of the woods.

Ah yes, places with a bunch of urban arterial state highway mileage. It was a similar story for me in Salt Lake - took me a few drives to clinch all the random urban surface street state highways between Ogden and Provo I hadn’t yet been on otherwise.

Imagine living in a place like Tulsa, where there is almost no nonfreeway state highway mileage. Must be nice.

It's a direction MnDOT has moved in, with pretty much all non-freeway surface mileage inside of 494/694 not numbered MN 55 being on the long-term kill list. Major cities here largely want control over the streets in their cores, with almost all surface mileage being axed in Duluth in 1997 and US 63 being taken out of downtown Rochester in the early 2010s.

I live in Denver but even if I lived here 50 more years, I doubt I'd ever clinch the entirety of E-470.  Unless it becomes free some day.

I've clinched every other section of numbered highway in the Denver Metro.

The nearest state highways I don't have clinched (besides E-470) are: CO-7 (I have it all except Lyons to CO-72), CO-105 (Sedalia to Palmer Lake), and a bunch of the E-W numbered highways north of Longmont (e.g., CO-56, CO-402, CO-60).

The nearest chunks of US Highway I don't have are: US-40 between Granby and Kremmling, and US_24 between Limon and Colorado Springs.

The nearest chunk of interstate I don't have is: I-80 between Kimball, NE and Sidney.

Northwest Parkway was my last one to clinch in the metro.  No need to use it from where I live and obviously being a toll road made me not feel compelled to do it before I actively started clinching.

Those E-W ones were annoying up north, but I just kept zigzagging back and forth when I was coming back from a camping trip up by Red Feather Lakes.
