Seems we don't have a dedicated thread for CA 67:

What I really found interesting with CA 67 is two things:

-  The original alignment of LRN 198 actually was briefly aligned through San Vicente Dam while it was being built 1942-1943.  The Mussey Grade behind San Vicente Dam was actually built by San Diego County during 1890 and paved during the 1920s. 
-  CA 67 is first signed beginning in 1952.  The CHPW didn't provide a rationale for this other than it was logical to sign something for the jog between El Cajon and Ramona.

Thanks for that. I live just down the road from there. I've driven Mussey Grade, but didn't know about Foster Canyon. The road through there looks like 4WD only, and is probably privately owned now.
