32 with nearly 35 mph winds earlier today, really felt it switching classes (since I need to go outdoors to do this)
You go outside to switch classes?

My school was basically in the shape of an E, and we were allowed us to go outside to connect between wings rather than backtracking thru the main corridor (regardless of the weather).  The school's been modified since then so there's a solid corridor and more classrooms connecting the wings.  Being I was in school 25 years ago (gasp), no idea if they would allow the doors to remain unlocked today to do the same.

In my hometown, ninth graders had classes in the Jr. High and High School buildings.  The two buildings were within walking distance of each other.

AM commute disrupted by snow, PennDOT kept the roads pretty clear but in NJ as I've come to expect Mercer County still does not know anything about plowing or salting.
Life would be boring if we didn't take an offramp every once in a while

cloudy and chilly...this has been a cold and rainy winter in Cal. March 1st and 3 months of an El Nino brought so much rain (esp. Feb 14th - 6" in 24 hours), we have wild flower blooms in the desert.

83 degrees and sunny, if I should trust my PC.

Don't envy me.

Plenty of sunny days as of late. Mid-to-high 40s and clean air with few clouds overhead (but plenty on the horizon).

Nice day today.  Too bad we're going to get 6-8" of snow tonight and highs only in the 20's all week.  Has me wondering if today is March 3rd or January 62nd. :hmmm:

I'm getting another taste of January too. Currently —1°F with —21°F wind chill, winds 10—15 mph, gusting to 20 mph. No snow forecast until Thursday, though.

Eth

It's 63 degrees here. Also raining, but you already knew that.

Our taste of January begins tomorrow. We'll have highs dropping to the 40s along with 20s overnight, but this forecast also includes an incredible FOUR consecutive days without rain! Unprecedented in 2019!

Ben114

around 40 and anticipating 8-12 inches of snow tonight

I think we're making up for those four days right now. I'm pretty sure the storm drains got overwhelmed for a bit earlier because I was seeing geysers shooting up from random places. We're also only one county away from a tornado watch, and I'm counting 12 tornado warnings currently in effect as I type this.

ET21

Eastern Alabama and southern Georgia wins for the first outbreak of 2019. Several long tracked and large tornadoes. Death toll is at 22 so far  :-(

For me, it's arctic air. Currently -3, which isn't too bad but is near record territory for early March

Medium snowstorm (slightly under a foot) and barely above freezing. Most K-12 schools closed, and UMass Lowell opens at 6 PM (for some reason, instead of being entirely closed).

The lowest high temperature observed on March 4 in Chicago is 17.  The high today is forecasted to be 3-5 degrees below that.  Chicago recorded its 17th below-zero temperature ever observed, at -3°F this morning.  It's a record-setting late season brand of cold.  Our average high now is 41, and I don't remember the last time we got to 40.  We also had NO warm spells since October--usually we at least get a few anomalies that take us into the 50s or 60s during the winter.  We've had a record-setting lack of such warm spells too, if that makes sense.
