You are right Alex4897.  I think I was having a brainfart trying to answer this earlier.  :banghead:

Maybe Alex4897 can find signage plans to see if DE 10 will be rerouted onto the East and West Camden Bypass.

EAST CAMDEN BYPASS has been awarded

Seems as though it will. It looks like the entire bypass is going to carry both the SR 10 designation and Willow Grove Road across US 13 to Lebanon Road and SR 10's current alignment.

The rest of the plans show signage going up for SR 10 along the bypass and old SR 10 signage being removed along the current alignment.

DelDOT plans to widen US 13 between the Puncheon Run Connector and Walnut Shade Road in the near-ish future, but this project won't be including that work within its scope. It seems as though the intention is to add the 3rd lanes on the inside of US 13, so theoretically they'll be able to come back through and add those thru lanes at a later date without having to tear the entire intersections apart again.

EDIT - Also of note, I found a recently closed Request For Proposals for the SR 1 widening project between the mall and Tybouts Corner. It's nice to see that project is getting some attention again after going radio silent for the past few years.

EDIT AGAIN - The contract for the I-295 widening from the I-95 split also just went out, so construction should kick off here soon to fix that bottleneck. Some massive 6-lane APLs will be installed for the larger split.

Unfortunately the speed limit is still going to be capped at a universally ignored 50MPH thanks to the DRBA.

Quote from: epzik8 on April 29, 2024, 08:23:02 AMIt looks like Delaware has a color detour system for the 896 interchange project in the style of Pennsylvania's.

The detour requiring turning around at the Biden Welcome Center is much more interesting IMO.

The detour doesn't go through the welcome center, it goes up to DE 273 and turns around using the loops at that interchange.

Regardless, I went through there on Sunday and didn't even pay attention to the signs around the welcome center and 273.

https://www.capegazette.com/article/after-six-month-closure-deldot-opens-roundabout/275449 Here is a news story about the connector road between US 9/DE 404 and the DE 1D/DE 23 roundabout opening. Notice the traffic light sign blade along US 9/DE 404 is signed "to DE 1D/DE 23" implying DE 1D and DE 23 end at the roundabout. Also at the roundabout the connector road is signed "To US 9/DE 404/DE 1".

DE 1D and 23 both ended at each other at the stop sign the roundabout replaced anyway, that connector to US 9 doesn't seem to have ever had a designation.

Yeah, that is what I am seeing from the Traffic Counts Map.

Bob texted me that DelDOT restriped US 13 south at SR 1 by Tybouts Corner to a single lane while restriping SR 1 southbound to 2 continuous lanes.

Also Dover was retained on northbound I-95 guide signs for SR 273 east at Exit 3 A because of the weaving traffic pattern for SR 1/7 south at the Mall beyond Exit 4.

It's about time! I hadn't seen this come up on their news postings so I didn't realize the change was imminent.

DERP, Yes I meant Dover.  :coffee:

The lane restriping at US 13/SR 1 southbound at Tybouts Corner was long overdue. The left lane drops for US 13 south. Bob also added
QuoteBut DelDOT put the wrong sign up showing 1 is curving left with a merge coming from the right when it's a right curve with a left merge

Does anyone on here agree that the design I hereby post (of what was almost the DE 1 Indian River bridge) suggests a tulip?  If so, please point out to me how, because to me it rather looks like one side of the old St. Georges (US 13) or Chesapeake City (MD 213) bridge.

The article link is https://www.capegazette.com/article/indian-river-tulip-design-bridge-fails-bloom/275754 .

P.S.  Since this is Delaware-specific, I chose to post this in the Delaware subforum rather than in Bridges.

I made a special Flickr album in regard to the Five Points Area for my photos from yesterday (https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBtcVw).  Only the connector road from DE 1 SB to US 9/DE 404/DE 1D/DE 23 and the DE 1D/DE 23 realignments around the new roundabout are covered.

I also made a similar album for the US 9 TRUCK corridor in Georgetown due to the realignment that opened within the past week.  (https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBte4U)

I made a third for the DE 1/DE 16 interchange construction.  (https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBteDG)

The work on signage for this is a bit sloppy.

Inverted west / south panels & upside down signal ahead sign.

SR 9?

Also, filed under "things that don't matter in the slightest", but I'm not a fan of the new propensity for the shrunken digits for SR 23 or the series F for US 9. I noticed the shrunken SR 23 digits at a new roundabout further down Beaver Dam Road last summer as well.

I am guessing these signs (I remember seeing them elsewhere in the area beyond DE 1) are unique to New Castle County for whatever reason.  (https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10220396714588450&set=a.10220396857392020)
