Not a bad way to start the fall season here in lovely South Texas; yesterday's high temps:

97 degrees in Corpus Christi (H.I. of 111 degrees)
105 degrees in Laredo (H.I. of 113 degrees)
99 degrees in McAllen (H.I. of 110 degrees)

After the cold front last night, our temps have cooled way down for today -- only Laredo and a couple of other places will reach 90 degrees, but most won't even see that today (in the upper 80s).  Fall season has arrived on cue!

Fall doesn't start for another 78 minutes.
Clinched, minus I-93 (I'm missing a few miles and my file is incorrect)

Traveled, plus US 13, 44, and 50, and several state routes

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.

We have a cold front coming in this afternoon. It'll drop lows into the 50s & low 60s with a north wind that will keep the humidity low. Highs will be in the low to mid-80s with continued low humidity. I hope it stays relatively cool, they're not forecasting beyound the 27th.
53° this morning, love love love it!

Well, the last two days here in Houston have been absolutely fantastic.  In the morning it has been about 62-66 which has made my morning walks with the dog heavenly.  The high has been in the lower 80s.  Its 79 right now.  I am loving it.
I love freeways and roads in any state but Texas will always be first in my heart

Here in Crestview, FL the low this morning was 51° & only 82° for a high. This is at least 10° below normal. The wind from the north is keeping humidity levels low & winds 15-20mph make it comfortable even in the sun. Too bad it wont last

Weather swinging around between shorts and jeans temperatures, with some days threatening to rain more than enough to justify a coat. We're still holding onto our normal summer temperatures for another day before dropping into the 50s!

After a period of two sunny weeks following Hurricane Nicholas, the rain made a ferocious return this afternoon. A freak stationary thunderstorm parked itself over my area and dropped about 2-3 inches of rain in little more than an hour while bringing constant lightning. I haven't seen so much standing water in the yard since Hurricane Harvey. And it's not going to be over anytime soon, as thunderstorms are in the forecast until this weekend at least. Highs this week will bounce around in the mid 80's.

I have to say this is the most interesting weather year I've ever experienced.

Correction: a neighbor reported 4.7 inches yesterday. Today was cloudy and balmy with a high of 80. The rest of the week figures to have more rain.

Wow. This afternoon another thunderstorm (not nearly as noisy as the last one) dropped another 3.8 inches of rain within a couple hours. Strangely, most parts of Houston have only received about 2 inches this week. I'll bet we'll total over 10 inches for the week as more rain is in the forecast for the next 3 days (and I'll bet the mosquitoes will be horrendous next week!). The mosquitoes are a crying shame, because next week is forecast to be awesome, with highs in the mid 80s, no clouds, and relatively low humidity.

I seem to get more than my share of t-storms sitting on top or very near me. You can tell cuz the rain falls so hard & the thunder is soo soo loud!! It often seems that a lightning bolt will come in one window & go out the opposite. It's quite a show  :-o
Does 2-3" flood the streets or can the sewer system handle it?

Our sewers and ditches have actually done an admirable job soaking up all the water this week, which to me is a bit surprising, as while it's not uncommon for t'storms to pop up and dump a couple inches, it's rare to see that happen 2 times in one week. Luckily prior to this week the ground was dry, which is helping prevent any flash flooding.
