Has WV 150 been extended west to replace part of WV 55?

According to http://transportation.wv.gov/highways/engineering/Documents/Publications%20Committee%20Meeting/DGFS%20-%20FINAL%2002.08.17.pdf (pp. 184-188) one control city for WV 41 is WV 150, and one for WV 150 is US 19 north, while WV 55 is missing everything west of Moorefield. Does this mean that the western part of WV 55, separated from the rest by a bunch of overlaps, is now WV 150?

That information is about 30 years out of date. The rest of that document has a lot of other inaccurate information, including routes that never existed.

From the 1970s through at least the mid-1980s, WV 150 extended from US 219 near Edray along the parkway section of the Highland Scenic Highway to WV 55 west of Mill Point. It then followed WV 39 west to Richwood, WV 20 to Craigsville, and and ran on its own to US 19 near Muddlety. In the late 1980s, WV 150 was cut back to its current length on the parkway section of the Highland Scenic Highway and WV 55 was extended west, including replacing most of WV 150's former route.

A bit more to the WV 150 story...the 1973 Official had it proposed to run all the way to US 50 Mt Storm as new construction...

The document NE2 found is interesting...several more state route designations that may or may not exist (or used to briefly exist).

It also still has WV 56 as active which is definitely not accurate...

The Highland Scenic Highway was at one point proposed to run basically to Mount Storm. It got cut back to US 250, and then to what was eventually built to US 219.

A lot of the designations in that document have never existed at all. It seems like some sort of wishlist for an expansion of the state route network, with a lot of routes taking their numbers from existing county routes in the area.

As US 48 is taking over most, if not all, of WV 55/VA 55, it wouldn't exactly be a surprise to see the rest of it decommissioned.

Is there more about the Highland Scenic Byway's history? I didn't know it was to extend further north.

Here you can see the entire planned route: http://westvirginiaarchiveshistory.zenfolio.com/p974981478/h864306f5#h86430737 (you can download the original, which isn't great quality but is enough to see the route)

Most of those are signed as county routes, but I'm not sure what "LSR" is supposed to stand for.

WV 124 jumped out at me. I've never seen it marked on a map.

I don't know what LSR is supposed to mean, but the examples shown are county routes that get full signage treatment comparable to a WV route.

Here's a comparison of listed versus actual routes:

WV 6 - not signed, but used internally
WV 120 - really CR 120
WV 124 - actually an extension of WV 622
WV 125 - under construction New River Parkway; signed as CR 26 now but construction plans have WV 125 designation
WV 140 - unsigned, not actually a state-owned route
WV 154 - planned but unbuilt
WV 201 - no cities listed, doesn't exist
WV 203 - doesn't exist, not sure what this is supposed to be
WV 204 - CR 31, presumably numbered as a branch off WV 20
WV 251 - not signed, but used internally
WV 252 - not signed, but used internally
WV 260 - route is WV 2
WV 290 - former designation for US 52 from US 460 to I-77
WV 301 - Cabbell CR 31, CR 47, CR 25
WV 303 - Lincoln CR 1, Cabell CR 25?
WV 338 - now US 33 on Ravenswood Bridge
WV 372 - branch off WV 37: Wayne CR 25, Lincoln CR 11?
WV 401 - branch off US 40: Ohio CR 41 and some other routes
WV 471 - branch off WV 47: Ritchie CR 15
WV 473 - branch off WV 47: Gilmer CR 20, Gilmer CR 7, Gilmer CR 9, Ritchie CR 47/16
LSR 507 - CR 507
WV 701 - branch off WV 7: Wetzel CR 17, CR 15
WV 703 - another branch off WV 7, noted as never signed: Monongalia CR 11, Monongalia CR 15, Marion CR 17
WV 707 - Harrison CR 707
LSR 857 - Monongalia CR 857
WV 870 - Mingo CR 52/41

Many of these are more important county routes, but none of them so much so I see a compelling need to upgrade them. There are some other county routes, like Grant CR 5 (Patterson Creek Road) and Pendleton CR 3 (Sweedlin Valley Road) that would make more sense if you were going to promote things.

And WV 252 is the now-closed Aetnaville Bridge.

I knew about WV 6 (bridge between US 60 and WV 61), 125 (proposed New River Parkway) and 251 (suspension bridge), but not about any of the others. None of them show up on maps the way 6 and 251 do.

The 1993 version of that document describes WV 201 (may be today's WV 193 or possibly CR 17 a little east).

It also lists LSR 151 (old US 33 east of Buckannon) and WV 109 (today's WV 43)

This study suggested the Institute Connector would run from I-64 Exit 50 to Little Tyler Rd (WV 62?) - http://www.wvregion3.org/RIC/media/Home/Documents/Studies/Cross_Lanes_Subarea_Study.pdf

Does anyone know of a WV 96 ever?  There have been 4 different WV 94s but I haven't found a WV 96...
