Longest signed interval between gas stations

For the interstates its I-70 across the San Rafael Swells in UT.  From Salina to Green River is 108 miles without gas, but Alex says though at one interchange in between you can access fuel by traveling 10 miles off the interstate.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

Here's a photo I took two days ago, on US 6 just west of Ely NV.  This may be the longest signed interval between gas stations anywhere in the lower 48:

I was in Ely today, and that part of the road appears to have been recently reconstructed, and the signs were all replaced -- including the sign about no gas on, um, US US 6.

Edit to add: And strictly speaking, the proper phrasing should be "Next Gas on US 6 167 Miles," since there is indeed gas near Lund on NV 318, just 7 miles off US 6. Surprised they didn't fix that when they ordered the new sign.

This isn't as long as some of the other ones, but I thought I'd post it: this trading post/gas station on US 20 in eastern Oregon, just east of Burns.

Next gas eastbound: 68 miles.

(Pardon the bump - this was a thread I happened to come across from Google, when I was looking up the infamous Salina-Green River gap in Utah, and I decided to add my own example from a past Street View trip.)

Old thread, but US 6 has taken the crown back for the lower 48 as gas is back in business in Denio and the number is down to 65 miles to the next gas station for NV 140.

Quote from: Zzonkmiles on July 03, 2014, 09:52:03 AMWhat is the longest stretch of interstate highway that has no services? I'm guessing somewhere on I-15, I-40 or I-70 out west?

Wow, those are some pretty cool (and damn scary) signs. Some small cars have gas tanks that only hold like 13 gallons, so they might not even be able to make the drive even with a full tank unless they carry additional fuel in a separate plastic can.

Mine has a 13.6 gallon fuel tank, and I could handily make the 500 km (310 mi) distance on one of the signs above.  As long as you get 30 mpg or better with a 13 gallon tank, you'll be just fine.

Same, I have a 13.7 gal tank and my average MPG is about 37 MPG (about 70% highway driving)

Apparently the fuel tank in my 2024 Corolla Hybrid is 11.3 gallons. Even at the worst mileage (which has been about 44 MPG so far) I would easily make it through something like the 167 fuel desert on US 6 in Nevada.

I didn't find the 167 mile US 6 stretch that big of a deal when I drove it...in a rental.
