Title: New US 82 Mississippi River Bridge to open July 28

According to this recent article (http://www.sunherald.com/2010/02/21/1969373/clock-ticks-down-on-old-bridge.html) from the Delta Democrat Times, and reprinted by the Sunherald, the new US 82 Mississippi River Bridge at Greenville is scheduled to open July 28, with demolition of the existing bridge to begin soon after.

Hmmm. Is the new Mississippi River bridge for I-69 next on the list?

The design is finished, but there is no word on construction.

Why do we need two bridges?  Is the distance that significant?
