Quote from: Scott5114 on June 23, 2025, 04:05:44 PMTo some people, 70 mph is slow.
I know you live in Vegas, but I never heard anyone say 110 km/h is slow.

110kmph on limited access roadways is slow (now you've read it).

110 km/h on some two-lane undivided roads (e.g. US 50, US 6) is slow.

Indeed, you're liable to get run over by the normal flow of traffic.

Assuming there is any to run you over, of course.

Quote from: Max Rockatansky on June 23, 2025, 06:23:37 PMI will say that 110kmph on some of the Mexican Autopistas I've been on is a questionable even in ideal conditions.

And yet it still doesn't stop an amazingly large number of people from driving 140 km/h on them in their sparkling-clean late-model SUVs.  I swear, they must have their shocks replaced every other year, or else they'd go airborne on some of the highways at the speed they drive them.

For me, "Slow" depends on the context. In a work zone with a flagger, "slow" would be significantly below the speed limit (in most cases), usually fast enough to not cause road rage but slow enough to not hit any workers. I try not to go above 45mph in those cases if I can avoid it (per some old IDOT study about work zone operating speeds I can't seem to find)...

ELSEWHERE, 70mph on a completely open freeway can indeed be slow for me, especially if I'm being passed by everyone while I'm holding 70. One can even make that argument for many highly-rural 2-lane roads. This is strictly for me, of course.
I can drive 55 ONLY when it makes sense.

Once I was at a red light, and a flagger holding a SLOW sign waved for me to come through the intersection.

Why can't it be both? It's nothing more than a regulatory STOP sign masquerading as a diamond warning sign.

If Montana's speed limit of "reasonable and prudent" was thrown out for being too vague to be enforceable, how could "slow" be enforceable?

I'm pretty sure she's in Missoula, actually. By the park.

See, 70 mph would be slow... if I were playing American Truck Simulator with my heavily modded save with an OP engine.
