I'm getting up during the wee hours to smoke a brisket.

My wife is making guacamole and homemade pico.

Also whipping up some jalapeño poppers and potato skins.

We always make chili and I make cornbread to go with it (I use this recipe for the cornbread–the macadamia oil and nutmeg give it a subtle kick).

Damn! That sounds good, think I'll try it next time I make chili. Thank you!

Make sure you order the macadamia oil in advance. That website sells it. (I discovered it one Christmas when my brother gave me a sampler of their products that he brought home from a business trip to Honolulu the previous month.)

Olive Garden must be stopped.  I must stop them.

Don't @ me. Seriously.

ribs, pigs in a blanket, chips and dip, shish kabobs, and wings. I will also be hating on the Buccaneers :spin:

Salvatore's, one of our local pizza chains, has been running ads that say "Sheet happens during the big game!"

I get it, but at the same time, you have to have respect for the GOAT. He found a better opportunity elsewhere - who in his shoes wouldn't have taken it?

Yes, but it's just a pre-game and an after-game to the Weeknd's concert  :-P

Guy I carpooled with always claimed he never watched football. Then he would proceed to discuss every miniscule play that occurred.

I made bigos yesterday–a traditional Polish stew of various meats (I'm using bacon and Polish sausage), cabbage, sauerkraut, and whatever else.  It's undergoing the first re-heat now, and I'll plug in the electric skillet once we get over there in a couple of hours.

My wife has been cooking Li'l Smokies in barbecue sauce.  She and my eldest son also made Snickers & apple dessert salad.

The house we usually go to for the Super Bowl is off-limits right now because two of them have COVID.  So, on our way to our other friends' house, we'll drop off one serving of the stew and some Snickers salad for them to enjoy.  (Only one of them will eat sauerkraut, but they'll all love the dessert salad.  I needed to ask ahead of time, because the sauerkraut-eating one has really struggled to kick COVID, and I wasn't sure if she would even have an appetite yet.)

The Super Bowl is something I have no interest in watching unless my team is playing in it.* Same thing with the NCAA championship.**

*The Bengals were my team, but they haven't been in the Super Bowl in eons, and I no longer watch the NFL for reasons not allowed to be discussed on this forum.
**The Kentucky Wildcats were my team, but I no longer root for them both for reasons not allowed to be discussed on this forum, and also because John Calipari would rather send players to the NBA than win championships.

If you're going simple, that's not a bad way to go.

I almost completely forgot about it. Who cares, I'm tired of seeing TB in it.

Haha, I forgot it could mean either Tampa Bay or Tom Brady. I meant the latter.

You missed out on Wawa playing Louisville and the loser sent on a death march to Candyland.

Didn't really care for either team but between the kids making hot wings, homemade pretzels, cheese dip, pepperoni rolls, and cake I probably gained an extra pound or two.
