Just a note: the shootings were in the neighboring suburb of Paradise, not in Las Vegas proper.

One of the victims of the Mass Shooting in Las Vegas was a Police officer from the city.
Oh shit. Now it's a tragedy.

I accept and respect your identity as long as it's not dumb shit like "identifying as a vaccinated attack helicopter".

Paradise, NV in better times.

Note 6:30 of this roadgeek video includes the scene where the Mass Shooting originated from the Mandalay Bay.

This is a horrifying catastrophe. If I heard a source correctly, this is the deadliest or one of the deadliest massacres in American history.  :-o

I never would have ever seen a tragedy like this coming. The whole thing has surprised me immensely. I was watching the news, and the footage was heartbreaking and terrifying. It sounds like the perpetrator has, as of now, unknown motives for the act. I believe it was said that the man has no strong political or religious views that could have motivated the act - if he did, we have no clue what they were. However, if I heard correctly, it seems like his father was a psychopath and on FBI's Most Wanted or something of the sort. The man himself was a multi-millionare, IIRC. I heard there was tough security at the concert itself, but there was no way to prepare for automatic shooting coming from the top of a hotel a little bit away from the concert with all the people. This is truly tragic indeed.  :-(

To end my post on a positive and less depressing note, I thank you very much, bing101, for showing us that road video. It was an interesting watch!!

Apparently the Mass Shooting in Las Vegas aka Paradise,NV has more victims than even the Orlando Mass Shooting in 2016.

One of the people killed was from my town. Have some friends that knew her. Sucks.

Also, if I attacked a particular person in this thread for making wise cracks about this, what are my chances of sticking in this forum?

If it's the certain person who I think it is, then I think you'll be fine.

Update one of the victims of the Las Vegas Shooting was credited for rescuing other concert goers' in the Chaos.

http://www.kcra.com/article/cameron-park-man-killed-in-las-vegas-mass-shooting/12769135

A Cameron Park, CA person has been identified as one of the victims of the Vegas shooting and now

http://abcnews.go.com/US/las-vegas-shooting-marilou-danley-shooters-girlfriend/story?id=50260200

Now a person of interest is being mentioned here over what role she had in the planning of the mass shooting.

Unlike that person, I will rise above and let their idiocy speak for itself.

http://news.abs-cbn.com/overseas/10/04/17/gunman-sent-100000-to-philippines-before-las-vegas-shooting

Update apparently news outlets in Las Vegas and the Philippines are saying that the mass shooter was sending money to the Philippines but motive is still under investigation according to Las Vegas Police.

https://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/las-vegas-shooting/las-vegas-shooter-wired-100-000-philippines-last-week-n807141

Now NBC News is saying something similar about this new clue.

DandyDan

First of all, RIP to all the victims.

Secondly, I'm surprised no one on this board mentioned it was the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

Its sad but some heroics like two men who laid their lives down for their wives.  One couple was there at the Route 91 Festival (glad they remember the ole highway despite it gone for decades) celebrating their one year anniversary and the hubby shielded his wife from the gunfire and lost his for her.  I thought that was very touching.

Too bad Fox, CNN, and all the biggies are not featuring these little stories as the investigation, Hillary's tweets and rants on the gun control issue, and Trump's whatever he is doing or not doing and the NFL flag thing take the headlines.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

I'm very pissed that the conspirisheep came out almost immediately with the "government coverup-false flag" bullshit.

It shouldn't surprise me at this point.

I hate conspirisheep.
I'm never wrong, just wildly inaccurate.

Update reportedly the mass murderer was going to do a Mass shooting in Chicago and Boston too?

http://www.lasvegasnow.com/news/local-news/las-vegas-gunman-planned-escape-sheriff-says/826472685

No, authorities CLAIM the mass murderer was considering Chicago and Boston as possible targets, but apparently discounted them for unknown reasons.  Big difference there.

And a pro tip for anyone following things like this where the media is grasping at straws to keep the story alive.  If you see phrases like "The official was not authorized to discuss the case publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity after being briefed on the investigation", just ignore what they're reporting.  Why?  Because you're dealing with a media outlet engaging in insider trading.  May be legal per the First Amendment, but its sole purpose is to boost media profits, and IMO is highly unethical.
