I plan on making the trip from Flagstaff, AZ to Vegas and back in the next couple weeks or so. I basically plan on driving the strip, walking some of it, and clinching the interstates of the Las Vegas metro area, as well as checking out the first official stretch of I-11.
I really am not interested in doing anything casino-ey, I'm just going because I've never been before, which is as good a reason as any
. Besides, I'm only 19 anyway.
My route:
https://goo.gl/maps/83Hs8SzpxeF2I will take I-515> I-215 > I-15, and will be making sort of a figure 8 around the freeway system and then heading south on US-95 through Searchlight to I-40. I'll take I-40 back to Flagstaff, and in doing so will clinch all of Arizona's segment of that route. Does anyone know of anything in particular around Vegas that might interest a roadgeek? I don't plan on stopping to see the Hoover Dam or going to the Bridge viewing area because A) it looks like you have to pay, and B) I'll be passing through there again on a much larger 6-7 day trip in 2018.
As I said, I'm going to be walking around some, so does anyone know of any good places for cheap/ free public parking? I feel like that may be asking a lot for around the strip.
