Abandoned bridge finds

Had a look at the 1856 Bidwell Bar Suspension Bridge which used to span the Middle Fork Feather River before it was moved in 1966 during the creation of Lake Oroville.  Bidwell Bar Bridge was apparently opened to vehicle traffic until the mid-1950s before it was taken out of service.  I'm fairly certain this was first suspension bridge in California and is it kind of amazing to me that it survived the floods in the 1860s.  Now it's sitting about Lake Oroville at Bidwill Canyon Marina:

Suffice to say the replacement Bidwell Bridge on CA 162 is quite the looker:

Not sure if this fits, but I've never seen something like this before:

Although not navigable, I would think the Corps would insist this be cleaned up.

This is not the only abandoned truss bridge with missing spans in Oklahoma. There is truss span near I-44 southwest of OKC that was destroyed by a tornado with only one extant span. This one is near Bernice. I don't get it either. It doesn't make sense to me. Things like this make me shake my head and say "It's Oklahoma." There are so many things in Oklahoma that make zero sense, but I've found it futile to try to understand and make rational observations of strange things about the state. Oklahoma is strange...in some ways this is an awesome strange but a bad strange in others. If I've learned anything in the dozen years or so I've lived in Oklahoma is that there are no hard rules and some things don't make sense.

My question is this:  Why would the state or city spend money to remove it?

Is that a missing section of it laying in the water? I found it on GSV and on GSV it has the first two sections in tact probably not very safely though and the third section is missing and that's all of the bridge that's in GSV.

My god it's an Alanland length quotation.

Not much of a "find", since it's obvious to anyone driving Alaska's McCarthy Road to visit the old Kennecott mine in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve. But here's an old railroad trestle parallel to the road (rail line abandoned 1938, with the road later built on or along the old trackbed):

Looks rickety. But until 1938, it carried heavy ore trains with no issues. Now, it only has to support its own weight.

The National Park Service lets pedestrians walk under the trestle, but not on it.

I sometimes posted in all lowercase letters for about the first month I was online and I quickly grew out of it.

So the answer is the span got swept off the piers in the 2015 flood, landed downstream, and they are going to leave it there.

Here's a nice old concrete bridge at St. George's Newfoundland. It was along the original highway.....still under construction down the west coast of the island to the ferry terminal at Port-aux-Basques when this map was issued in 1949....the year Newfoundland became part of Canada.

An adjacent two lane bridge replaced this one and the Trans Canada Highway has long bypassed this section of road.
