Former US Route 99 in Salida

Former US Route 99 within Salida of Stanislaus County, California can be found on Salida Boulevard.  US Route 99/Salida Boulevard within Salida was paved during the late 1920s and would be expanded to a four lane divided highway by 1938.  Salida Boulevard would remain part of US Route 99 through the truncation of the highway to Ashland, Oregon during June of 1965.  Salida Boulevard continued serve as part of California State Route 99 in Salida for several years before until was bypassed by the modern freeway in 1970.
