A few years ago Big Rig Steve drove westbound on I-20 through Shreveport, LA, resulting in most of the stuff in the cab of his truck being well shaken and stirred.

Back in the mid-1990s, I was roadtripping in the Denver, CO area and was struck by how bad the freeways were due to rutting wear from studded tires.  Worst was I-270 where the rutting was so deep that the concrete was breaking through in some stretches.

I can recall the section of I-70 between Saint Louis and Kansas City to be like driving down a washboard road.  It was awful.

For Chicago, it was the Eisenhower Expressway. Going through some of the roughest West Side neighborhoods, it looked the part as well. Thankfully, the Circle Interchange reconstruction project is a start.

penna turnpike.  pick any segment.  this is actually worse due to the extravagant tolls you pay to drive the thing.

The high tolls notwithstanding, the PA Turnpike is actually not all that bad. The PTC does a halfway decent job maintaining the roadways and the reconstructed segments are in great condition.

Over on the PennDOT side of things...there are segments of I-78 that are absolutely awful, with the part between the Berks/Lehigh line and the US 22 split being the worst.

Just about every freeway in SE PA excluding the PA Turnpike sections.
The US 202 freeway in the Great Valley area, because it was recently widened, isn't too bad.  And I haven't been on PA 309 in a while. And I-95 in Delaware County is being rehabbed. Otherwise...

SH-130 south of Austin, around Lockhart.  The road is so "hilly" (buckling of pavement) combined with the 85 mph speed limit, in the right (wrong) vehicle you could literally fly off the thing!

Some sections aren’t bad. I swear others haven’t been resurfaced since it was first built in the 70’s.

I-55 IL from I-80 to Weber Road. Chunks of that were ricocheted off truck tires ahead of me and punctured my front bumper twice. Looks like I have bullet holes

I-95 in South Carolina definitely had some rough areas when I drove through a few months ago. North Carolina and Georgia sides were notably in much better condition.

Heh, we just drove the full length of I-95 northbound through South Carolina on Monday and Tuesday and my wife noted the same thing as to several issues: (1) Very abrasive and noisy pavement; (2) Surprising number of small potholes; (3) The right lane has a lot of poorly-done concrete repair panels that themselves are cracked; (4) A fair amount of dips in the pavement, particularly in the right lane (probably due in no small part to heavy truck traffic concentrated in the right lane).

To me the biggest thing of note was the abrasive and noisy pavement. It wears on you when you've already been driving for most of the day. I did note, however, that there seemed to be less road spray in the rain than there is on the smoother pavement in the other states.

(Edited because I realized I had the days wrong—we stopped for the night near Florence—and to add the comment about the rain.)

Yeah.  It's a freeway in crappy condition—one that I use every so often.

FWIW, the highway I linked to is frequently the butt of editorials for its poor condition.  Reporters are fond of pointing out that the free road is generally in better condition than the parallel toll road.

From a December article about that highway:

Quote from: Periódico La Voz — Aumentan 4% la Tarifa de Autopista — 22-DEC-2021 (translated by Google)
With this undeserved increase, the cost for each kilometer traveled is 2 pesos 07 cents, for a "highway" that has been managed for more than 20 years by "Supercarreteras del Norte", a company that is not capable of providing a service online billing or customer service, and to top it all off the counter billing is constantly interrupted by "system crashes".

The road also has asphalt in poor condition, which has caused countless accidents this year, in addition to not having signage, lighting or emergency telephones as provided by other highways that are up to 50% cheaper.

[...]

The 4% increase was also made effective for excess axles, trucks with up to 4, 6.7 and 9 axles, which seems like a new abuse, taking into account the bad state of the road.

("Countless accidents" due to the asphalt being in poor condition?  I seriously doubt that.)
