I've been wondering for the last few days. How did the AARoads forum come to be? Who were the founding members? How did it develop into the forum we know today? etc.

Well, just to get this straight. Alan Merritt is currently building many interstates for me as part of Alanlands expansion to newly found islands. But if he's retiring as Grand Alan, than what will happen after that? There are no other good Grand Alan candidates. Why? Because Alan Merritt has done many things for Alanland.

The Sbarro Oblast is currently under renovation as Sbarro Great Goat Province. Alan Merritt ordered me to do this stuff for him. He's too busy developing Quindaro into a major metropolis with flying cars. Creating new neighborhoods is his main priority, but he also plans to merge Sbarro and Quinn Great Goat Provinces into one by 2025.

The reason why me and Merritt are doing this is because of Nimbya. We can't let Nimbya know all of our secret plans, so as a result we will seem like an entirely different country, but we are still Alanland. And we will make this change.

Alan Merritt also wants to divide Large Great Goat Province into 5 GGP's: Register GGP, Tropicana GGP, Merritt GGP, Diesel Sabe GGP and Colfax GGP. This will help with the new found growth in Alanland, and it will also hide us from every country.

However, after reading some Quindaro newspapers, it seems like residents aren't satisfied with this change. One even said they wanted to start a war. But we can't have that. So Alan Merritt and I are currently developing high-tech machines that will guard areas of war in Quindaro.

Finally, I want to announce that Alan Merritt doesn't plan to step down. He will do his best to keep Alanland thriving and healthy. And protect it if Nimbya or angry residents threaten war.

To be fair, the one he made is more like this.  The one we know was actually created by Scott while we were all marveling that TheAlan360 inserted a fictional country in the list of the "15 North American countries" for the thread originally titled "North American Interstate System".  The rest, as they say, is history (incidentally, the Perkins Union thread is a romp too).  I assume that this Alanland is unrelated.

There were actually a few (since deleted) very early in the forum's history.  The most infamous was "Guess the Highway" where people posted sign photos with all identifying information blanked out and people had to guess where it was.  "Guess the Highway" did not survive the end of the V'Ger era and the purging of the Forum Games board.
