Notice how there were a lot of big hit songs in the '80s whose title sounded like they could be about gum.

"Like A Rock" and "Tuff Enuff" describe the texture of bubble gum you got in your trick-or-treat bag on Halloween.

"Stand Back" is what you say when you're about to blow a bubble.

"Throwing It All Away" is about what you do with a wad of gum when you're done chewing it.

"Danger Zone" is about when a bubble gets big enough to bust all over your glasses. So is "Point Of No Return" (the title of 2 hit songs).

And of course there's songs like "Stuck On You."

Am I forgetting any?
Might as well face it, pooing is cool

Bubble Gum rock was in the 60's, though (like 1910 Fruitgum Company)

I was thinking of the Expose and Nu Shooz hits.

The "Man In the Mirror"  could've been chewing gum while looking at himself in the mirror.

The “Man In the Mirror” could’ve been chewing gum while looking at himself in the mirror.

Or he could have been offering it to lure kids to his windowless van
