Vancouver got hit with a mid-commute snowstorm that has shut down a few bridges and caused commutes to increase five-fold.

We're getting hit on our side as well, but we're used to it, so no bridge closures!

A cold front is moving in. It's currently 8C (46F) and overcast, but will dip past the 0C (32F) mark around 2pm. They're calling for some light rain, switching to flurries.

EDIT: Seems to be raining pretty hard right now, but should let up in about an hour. There's also a wind warning today:
QuoteStrong winds today into tonight.
Westerly winds gusting 70 to 80 km/h are expected later this morning into this evening in the wake of strong cold front.
The strongest winds are expected near the eastern shores of the Great Lakes where wind gusts up to 90 km/h may occur.
Winds are expected to ease from west to east later tonight.
Strong winds may toss loose objects and cause tree branches to break. Isolated utility outages may occur.

jlam

A nice daytime snow dump today with about 6 inches at my house in the last 3 hours.  It should be winding down as the afternoon goes on.  Air temperature is about 31°F so it's sort of mid-range between wet snow and powder.

Windy, windy, windy.

The winds are from the south at 25 to 35 mph, with gusts over 50 mph.  The high temperature is forecast to be 68-69°F.  Then they say the winds will shift to come from the north, with an overnight low in the low- to mid-20s.  From 6pm to 2am, it's supposed to drop from 58°F to below freezing.

Also very windy in Tulsa. A couple days ago there was a massive house fire right behind my university gym that burned down 3 houses, mostly as a result of the wind and how strong it's been.

The air was actually almost still when I took my walk just now, but I think we are in the calm before the front moves through--we're due to have winds from the north at 25 MPH by 9 PM.

Reading all other posts from this thread makes me grateful to be from South Texas (or northern Mexico if you wish to call us that), in fact we've been warmer than Cancun (and many other parts of the Caribbean) was the last couple of days.

Brownsville:      86 high (+9);    71 low (+14)
Corpus Christi:  85 high (+11);  71 low (+15)
Laredo:            83 high (+10);   70 low (+17)
McAllen:           87 high (+11);   72 low (+16)

Heat Index will be anywhere from 90 to 100 degrees.  These conditions are expected to persist at least to halfway point of December; should be cooled down to around normal/average by Christmas.

On a related note:  Of the daily record highs in November 2022, one day occurred in Death Valley, 20 days in Florida, and nine days in Texas.  The average temperature of the record days was 91 degrees, and the hottest day of November 2022 was 101 degrees in Falcon Lake, Texas on November 4th.
We're so far south that we're not even considered "The South"
