Similar to the route Subtraction game, however it is addition this time as a slight twist.

Rules:
No repeat posting in 24 hours or 5 numbers.
You can use other people's photo's (except Raymond Yu's) but GSV is banned unless 72 hours go by and no one has come up with one.
One photo at a time.
No same routes (ex: no double US 20 to add to 40 but you can do SR 20 and US 20).
Must be a real road sign in the field.
Ignore all suffixes, just the numbers in the route counts.
In the photo, only the numbers that add up to the number at play counts, any additional numbers don't matter.
More than 2 routes/numbers are allowed if it assists to get up to that number.
Specify the numbers you are playing.
After a week, if we are still stumped, to break the deadlock, you can you xth streets.

I can't find anything below 3 (except on Raymond Yu's page, I-95 exit 15A Rhode Island) so here we go:
1+2=3

From AA roads.

If anyone can find a CR 1 and SR/US 1 sign, please post it as 2 will just be a wildcard spot.

Here's 1 + 1 = 2: a old photo of mine with US 1 and A1A, since suffixes don't count. (Any word on prefixes?)

Same as suffixes.

Question about the game: For 11 (for example), are either or both of these allowed?
- 2, 3, and 6 (are more than two numbers allowed?)
- 4, 7, and 82 (are extraneous route shields allowed?)
Clinched, minus I-93 (I'm missing a few miles and my file is incorrect)

Traveled, plus US 13, 44, and 50, and several state routes

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.

Yes, more than 2 routes/numbers are allowed if they aren't the same route (no double US 1 for example)
Extraneous shields are allowed just as long if 2 or more routes add up to exactly the number at play. In your case, the play would just be 4 and 7, but 82 is just there for no benefit. Just make sure you say what the numbers that you are playing are at all times.

Totally hypothetical...

But could US 6 + 159th Street be playes to equal 165? I guess another way to ask: Are these only "Shield"  routes, aka County/State/Provincial/Federal/Interstate, or would Numbered Streets/Avenues also be in play?

Shielded unless we are so stumped after a week then xth street can be played.

From the Wikipedia article on Road Concurrencies

US 4 + Bypass US 1 = 5. Portsmouth, NH.

There's a 3/3A/4 combo on my Flickr page, valid for 6 and/or 7, but due to the 5-number rule, I can't post it.

Or 10.if that matters. That would evade the 5 post rule assuming that people post up till then.

I will try to play only from my personal collection, like I do with all the challenges (except the 1-2-3 challenge, because honestly who outside of KY, LA, and TX has anything 4 digits long).  (feel free to use my photos too if you like)

2 + 6 = 8

2 + 7 = 9

Choose from a wide selection of 2s and 7s.  These signs with the ugly font were installed on the Northway for a while in 2009.  Taken June 25, 2009.

I'll put in a photo hoping it's alright for me to use it, just to get this game moving a little bit.

AR-5 + AR-7 = 12.
I take pictures of road signs, that's about it.

General rule of thumb: Just stay in the "Traffic Control" section of the forum and you'll be fine.

Assuming signage isn't lacking, I can confirm that this game can be played to at least the mid-500s.
